From here on out MSM will be CMC: the Corporate Media Cartel

last night one of our brilliant DUers pointed out our folly in referring to the corporate media as the Main Stream Media.

In doing this, instead of pointing out the evil of having corporate news, we paint ourselves as outside the norm, which obviously is more hurtful than helpful.

Calling them the CMC is more truthful and biting anyway.

So who's with me? It is essential that we ween ourselves from giving them credit that being mainstream implies.

2. Well Done But...

I've been calling it "corporate media" for nearly a decade...primarily from my first hand experiences (maybe worthy of a book someday) and that they have shown their true colors in recent days in stonewalling on the "Gannon" story...not the sex, but the other information about his access and his political handlers...more the reason we keep blogging and hammering away.

The But...is since I view the Repugnican party and it's affiliated "cells" as more like cartels. A very centralized head with many sleeper cells around the country using mules to do their dirty work...so the ones at the top pretend to be "Robin Hoods" and good guys.

The media are also mules as they transport the dirt and have been compromised and blackmailed into complicity and silence. Corporate Media is short and sweet and is exactly what we have...the broadcast equivelent of the military/industrial complex...in far less words.

I've never like "mainstream media" as it started as a right wing codeword and that I've never considered Faux as in the middle of the stream on any issue that matters to me or my family.

3. Absolutely aggre.. but don't you think

it would be a good idea to adopt a three letter acronym in these days of the abbreviations because no one will say "cm" but many can and will say "cmc" I know its weird but for some reason 3-letter beats 2 letter.

From one who did talk radio, Corporate Media can be tooled into a very evil sounding word where CMC or any alphabet soup sounds more beaucratic and not as menacing. Also I think both would stick out well in print...the "Media" pulls your eye, the "Corporate" turns your stomache...LOL.

Anyway, it's good we define who we're fighting...they've been doing it to us for a long time.

7. That's right I'm kicking my own thread

Even Jon Stewart reffered to it as the MSM on tonight's show, we are shooting ourselves in the foot when we do this.

Online we can call it the CMC but in conversation corporate media works just as well.

Isn't it nice to know that progressives are getting their grassroots act together so quickly. I predict that we can build a network as strong and effective as the repubs in a few years. It will take us 5 years to build what took them 30.
