2. I prefer CMC to MSM, but either way the whores
are being forced to talk about the whore, which is just fun to watch!

19. Media whores don't talk about the other media whores in public
That's why this will die a slow death.

The media doesn't want the spotlight directed at itself for very long.

Plus, it's all about media access in the White house. It's a powerful tool in controlling the media.

Also, there are other media outlets that have personnel getting passes that might not want to be scrutinized to closely.

Dowd is not taken seriously (when she writes fluff pieces doesn't help her image) and Rich may write for the NYT, but the public in general views the Times as biased.

When ABCCBSNBSCNN picks it up and runs it daily on the six o'clock news, it will get some legs.

That will happen when Bush admits he is a fraud, which is never going to happen.

3. That's what prompted me to post the poll.
There are 2 stories in the NYT.

16. Some show...
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 05:14 AM by icehenge
It might have been the The daily show...
They had a clip of CNN making a quick comment of
the AMERICAblog.org source.

The reporter on CNN was quite doofey. Claiming
they broke the story.

Edit" mistakes for being sleepy

11. The sweet smell of VICTORY!!!!
snips from the Frank Rich article:

How this happened is a mystery that has yet to be solved. "Jeff" has now quit Talon News not because he and it have been exposed as fakes but because of other embarrassing blogosphere revelations linking him to sites like hotmilitarystud.com and to an apparently promising career as an X-rated $200-per-hour "escort." If Mr. Guckert, the author of Talon News exclusives like "Kerry Could Become First Gay President," is yet another link in the boundless network of homophobic Republican closet cases, that's not without interest. But it shouldn't distract from the real question - that is, the real news - of how this fake newsman might be connected to a White House propaganda machine that grows curiouser by the day. Though Mr. McClellan told Editor & Publisher magazine that he didn't know until recently that Mr. Guckert was using an alias, Bruce Bartlett, a White House veteran of the Reagan-Bush I era, wrote on the nonpartisan journalism Web site Romenesko, that "if Gannon was using an alias, the White House staff had to be involved in maintaining his cover." (Otherwise, it would be a rather amazing post-9/11 security breach.)

By my count, "Jeff Gannon" is now at least the sixth "journalist" (four of whom have been unmasked so far this year) to have been a propagandist on the payroll of either the Bush administration or a barely arms-length ally like Talon News while simultaneously appearing in print or broadcast forums that purport to be real news. Of these six, two have been syndicated newspaper columnists paid by the Department of Health and Human Services to promote the administration's "marriage" initiatives. The other four have played real newsmen on TV. Before Mr. Guckert and Armstrong Williams, the talking head paid $240,000 by the Department of Education, there were Karen Ryan and Alberto Garcia. Let us not forget these pioneers - the Woodward and Bernstein of fake news. They starred in bogus reports ("In Washington, I'm Karen Ryan reporting," went the script) pretending to "sort through the details" of the administration's Medicare prescription-drug plan in 2004. Such "reports," some of which found their way into news packages distributed to local stations by CNN, appeared in more than 50 news broadcasts around the country and have now been deemed illegal "covert propaganda" by the Government Accountability Office.

12. The Work Is On Going
While we'd love this thing to be Watergate/Monicagate/Iran-Contra all in one times 500 and it should have happened yesterday, patience will be a virtue here.

"Gannon" has been our "golden boy" (keep it down now...LOL), in a lot of ways. Of course there's the sizzle...the sex, but that shelf life is already fading in a climate where the Corporate Media will fight us as hard as hate radio. And honestly, does abhorant sex really shock anyone anymore? The Monicagate titilated as it was "normal sex" per se...as opposed to "Gannon" whose acts are abhorant to almost everyone, straight or gay. Monicagate made us relate to a blow job, "Gannon" makes us take showers. That's more the reason I think we've had our fun with this part of the story, but the real one is still developing.

We need to know about what Gannon knew and who he knew. The network that created him, paid him, blackmailed him (a strong possibility) and then planted him. Each day someone is uncovering another piece in a very large and nebulous network. Hillary Clinton wasn't only right, she underestimated...and now we have a way to pry into that world and trace a lot of connections...exposing many dirty tricksters...and hopefully putting the heat above on the Corporate media to clean up its act and this regime to be exposed for its true corrupt and manipulating self.

It took Watergate 10 months to really make a splash (between the "third rate" break-in and John Dean's "resignation"/firing...the first admission by Nixon of Watergate) and then another 15 months til his resignation. Joe Connason nailed the situation in his column today...and we must not make sure we're right, we need everything air-tight. That's what's happening now...join with us and the day this story blows wide open gets closer.

Whorie Kurtz and his ilk can deny this isn't a major story...or among some "fringe" bloggers...like we're aliens from another planet. Sorry, Whorie...we're the same people who watch your wretched treehouse, hold the ratings books and patronize your corporate masters. Keep pissing us off at your own peril.

14. Next week, here's why
John Stewart is going to milk this.

Tonight was intro.
Tomorrow he'll cover more of the prostitution angle and media coverage.
Off for the weekend.
Tuesday he will do the Plame angle.

Then the MSM cannot control the shit coming from the fan.

15. I Wanna Agree...
But no, the MSM won't play it---they just won't

NYT Frank Rich's column is better, more revealing
than Dowd's but middle maerica red states
don't read.

They watch TV and it's not going
to play on their screens.

17. How many times to you have to see the same pattern to notice a pattern
State-Controlled Media (State-Coerced? It is so hard to actually characterize the New Infoganda Beast that has been created...it isn't State "Controlled" exactly but it acts as if it was) will NEVER give a megaphone to the Enemies of the State, who just want to harass that innocent Guckert.

:puke:

20. Except theirs is no longer the only megaphone in town...
And the more steam this picks up, the less they are able to maintain relevancy if they don't talk about it.

Don't get me wrong -- I am looking forward to the acrobatics they will attempt in order to marginalize the story. But if this turns into as big a story as it seems it will... Well, it'll be interesting.
