let's talk about "moral values"...
and hypocrites. George W Bush stands up in front of the press corps and America and answers questions from a fake reporter named "Jeff Gannon" and answers questions about the Democrats "being out of touch with reality". Let us pray.

Is there anyone more "out of touch" than the Republicans that voted for this bunch of hypocrites? Gay "military escorts", men for men, and reports of people in this Administration cavorting the "evil" lifestyle they have vilified to their political advantage. No one knows the depth of the depravity of this Adminsitration. But, from a distance, a blue dress looks minor in comparison.

1. Here is a tale of moral values
I have a neighbor that has a bunch of kids that neither he or his wife really pays attention too....two kids clearly have a speech delay and the eldest is a juvenile hall wannabe....oh and there are smaller ones that are currently too young to leave the house...except when they escape and run towards the busy road...and I have to get them and return them to the house because no one noticed that a two year old was missing from the house....

Meanwhile me..the goofy liberal, I give them tissues for their runny noses, I keep them from getting hurt at the bus stop and I keep an eye out for them but I am the liberal without morals....

I am just sick of this phony moral bullshit...

5. You didn't report them to Social Services?
These people aren't good parents and they don't deserve to have children. The kids should be removed from danger and neglect as soon as possible and placed in a better situation. Maybe with that nice gay couple down the street.

9. Jolly good, then
It's nice to have neighbours who care -- and not in a Gladys Kravitz kind of way, but in a good way. The bad parents living near you don't realize how lucky they are.

14. Yeah, bleedingheart, after all, "it takes a village..."
Oh, wait! WAIT!!! NO! I didn't say that, did I??? Oh, please, forgive my sinful, moral-less, liberal ways... Please, PLEASE, Intelligent Designer™, strike me blind for thinking such thoughts!!!

15. Yeah...it does take a village
the retirees in the neighborhood are the one who typically watch these kids. I work during the day and my kids are in daycare but I have been involved in a few incidents with these kids that make me feel really bad for them. The retirees who have more experience with them are the ones who are all for calling the social services org since they see more of the problems.

2. and say it louder
The Dems really need to get organized
with talking points and microphones
all during the day on what really are
moral values and that this administration
has failed the country and world with
what they espouse as "moral" values.

Killing, torture, lies, criminal acts,
cutting money for poorest while rewarding
the richest, putting money into more
defense missile programs while cutting
food stamps are not moral values.

This is an empire folks...emperors...
we have to fight them as they appear.

3. Bush & Minions HAVE NO MORALS, HAVE NO SHAME and...
they will probably NEVER be held accountable for anything they do. We've been asking how low they will go before the RW fundies start taking this misadministration to task? I'm guessing the depths of depravity are infinite. I swear a white house child sex ring wouldn't do it. That's how out of touch Bush's supporters are. The RW fundies may be in charge now, but as for me, I think God is officially done with us.

4. You've missed the point
When the cons want to talk about "moral values," they want to carp endlessly about YOUR moral values, not theirs.

Jeesh. Don't you know IOKIYAR? "It's OK if you're a Republican." Let's get with the program, people! Have these hypocrites labored this long in vain that you don't understand it even now?

6. As I wrote in a post that was just deleted at Free Republic...
Morals are a stick with which we beat our neighbour, never ourselves. Oh, and my posting privileges are revoked (after one post), which I consider a personal triumph, considering the source.

Or maybe I got banned because I said the reason Jimmy-Jo-Jeff Gannuckert's gayness is an important issue is that the GOP is in bed with religious fundamentalists, and either they have to expel them from the party and say good-bye to power, or shun and chastise gays and say good-bye to ethics. That they can't have it both ways, and it wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't positioned themselves as the champions of morality in the first place.

Or maybe I'm just "blaming the victim". Bush voters are victims as much as anyone, you know -- complicit victims of their own ignorance, perhaps, but still victims.

7. a blue dress looks minor
Any bets on whether a stained blue suit shows up. Can you imagine Gannon under the desk in the Oval Office? I can and in fact I picture Rove spending more time sitting in that chair than Bush*. Probably more than one stain on that blue suit.

10. Our fake President and this fake administration are creating fiction
as I write this myself. Too bad it's not just another badly written novel.

11. Their Sheeple Are More Out Of Touch
I went to a local band concert last night...in the audience was a man (looked early 40s to me) who had just returned from Iraq and was seeing his son his son for the first time in 10 months performing in the show that night. Everyone stood up and gave the man a standing ovation...as did my wife and I.

The band director then "dedicated a selection to the War in Iraq" (that made me very uncomfortable...material for a future post), Lee Greenwoods "Love To Be An American"...and told people the song lyrics were printed on the program and if they'd like they could stand and sing along.

The band began to play and just a few in this once predemonately Repugnican area (we just replaced a Repugnican Congressman with a Democrat!)...and there was a somber mood over the entire gym. My wife and I surely weren't going to join in...but I was surprised at how many others of the several hundred who were there did the same as us.

Behind me was a man...looked early 30's...beer-belly and smelled it. My Freeper alert went off when I laid eyes on him...and in the middle of the song, he stands up and attempts to sing...both very off-key, off tempo and very loudly. I, along with others nearby, gave him a glance...he turns to me and says "come on...don't you support our troops in Iraq?" I said "I support our boys and girls...I don't support immoral pludering...and asked where how he'll feel when it's his own son who is dragged into this mess..." The people around me cheered...he sat down and soon left.

There are so many who have been intimidated into silence by the hate radio/media machine...my sadness is it will probably take a lot more dead and wounded coming back to the red and purple areas to break this silence.
