Air America has been on for almost a year now...
How would you rate the shows?

Morning Sedition - I like Mark Riley and the show, but Mark Maron's starting to get on my nerves. His comedy bits are long and too often. Lately, he's been sounding really tired and annoyed with the commute(LA to NY). I do like his comedy... just not what I'm looking for on AAR.

Early on, B+
Lately, C

Unfiltered - No problems here. It's not quite as entertaining as some of the other shows, but they stick to the topics us liberals are concerned about. I like it better when Chuck is on the show.

Grade - B

The Al Franken Show - Here is a man that is very funny. Unfortunately his personality does not work on radio. I like him on the show when he's in front of an audience. Katherine does nothing for me.

Grade - C+

The Randi Rhodes Show - I Love her just as much now as before she was on AAR. She can be a bit much, but she's exactly what we need right now.

Grade - A-

The Majority Report - I love Sam Seder. I wish he had his own show during Al's spot. I'm not sure how much I like him with Janeane. They are better than some of the shows on the station.

Grade - B-

The Mike Malloy Show - I haven't heard enough to make a good judgement. His personality is a little out there, but I can deal with it because I like his message.

Grade - ???

I haven't heard enough of the others to give a grade.

I do wish the station would find some suitable replacements when the regulars are on vacation. David Brock would be nice.

I am happy to see AAR growing. It's just a matter of time before they really start to make a difference.

Thoughts?

1. Majority Report is my favorite now
Most of the weekend shows bore me, with the sometimes exception of Laura Flanders, who does a satisfactory show.

2. I agree, for the most part.

I would love for David Brock to substitute, or have his own weekend show, because I love Mike Papantonio and Robert Kennedy Jr, or both.

I would like to hear him uninterrupted for once, as well as Christie Harvey.

I would like Thom Hartmann to be on.

I would like to listen to Sam Seder and Janeane Garofolo separately.

I would give Mike Malloy and A, because he is what we need right now.

I would like Al Franken, the figurehead/masthead of the whole ship, to get rid of the Mark Luther segment.

I simply love Rachel and Liz (and Chuck D when available) on the Majority Report.

9. Too bad Ron Reagan
couldn't have a show on there. Like just himself or maybe Christy Harvey.

pls use the AAR site's button----

Programs/general feedback button at the

AAR site, to tell them

NO more reruns.

Get book authors to .. for free.. host fresh live shows .. on weekends for example. Shy authors can interview each other, and avoid nerveracking freeper callins.

It should boost listenership.

5. I agree...
I find it hard to believe they can't find any liberals in NY looking to make a name for themselves.

15. Yes, Please, no more "best of" rerun shows
It makes people (like me) tune out. Especially when great substitutes like Tom Hartmann are available.

8. Thank God for AAR
I love them as a station and am so glad that they are growing.

Here are my raitings-

Morning Sedition- I haven't ever really heard them. I think they're on too early for me.

Unfilitered- I enjoy them all right. I listen to them on days I have class and have to wake up early and all that. I give them a C.

Al Franken- He's pretty good. I like the "Oy Oy Oy Show" and some other stuff. I give him a C plus.

Rhandi Rhodes- I love her show. I love it when she gets freepers. That's the best. She really lays it on them. I give her an A plus.

Majority Report- I listen to them sometimes. Every once in a while they'll have a good show. I give them a B.

Mike Malloy- He and Rhandi are my favorite's. I give him an A-Plus.

Ring of Fire- I haven't listened to this show yet. I'll have to at least listen to it once.

What Else is News?- I haven't listened to it yet.

Laura Flanders- I like her pretty well. I give her an A-Minus.

Kyle Jason- Haven't really heard him.

Eco Talk- Haven't really heard.

Revolution Starts Now- They're not bad. I give them a C.

10. AAR's Done Well...We Need Local Progressive Talk
From one with a little insight into the situation, I've been both surprised and encouraged at the network's stability and progress, yet am keeping a careful eye on how much influence Cheap Channel gets as this company is AAR's biggest client.

The real need is to expand the voices and bring in more...to encourage stations, advertisers and others who really want our voices to be heard to help create an alternative media and bring the dialogue into towns and communities...especially in red and purple states.

11. I have listened to all the shows. I like them all, and love some.
They all fill certain niches, and satisfy some. Obviously all the shows cannot make all the people happy. They are not meant to.
I am just thrilled to have Liberal/Progressvie Radio Talk station to listen to that reflects my opinions. I was so happy to hear people calling in from all over the country and to find out that there are pockets of liberalism even in the most conservative areas of the country. It was amazing to hear how thrilled those people were to find out that they were not alone in their beliefs, and how happy they were to find a liberal/progressive outlet for their thoughts.
I am very grateful for AirAmericaRadio and hope they live long and prosper. I hope that soon, there are many, many more stations like them.

13. I love AAR as well but PLEASE, now that they are in the black can we get
rid of the "improve your performance in the bedroom" commercials?????

Come on. Do they think we are as stupid as the Rush listeners? I'd like to have AAR on the radio when I am driving with my kids without explaining erectile strength to them.

18. I agree. They are in poor taste, and inappropriate for kids.
Can we just get rid of them? Please AAR? Think of the children! :)

17. It's my most listened to station now
Gotta put in a good word for Morning Sedition. That show took a lot of getting-used-to, but I'm hooked. I even went to see Maron live tonight here in NYC. He can be abrasive, but I think he's the real deal. And I love Riley.

I agree with the poster who would prefer Janeanne and Sam separately.

Mike Malloy is my favorite except when I'm listening to Randi Rhodes.

I don't think Franken is a good match for the medium of radio. He seems to stick very close to the DNC/DLC party line. I find Katherine a bit irritating.

I like Laura Flanders but she has serious technical problems here in NY.

I listen to Unfiltered most days; they seem to be well organized and get along pretty well.

I don't watch TV so I live with the radio. Having Air America has meant a lot, and I wish them every success

we also get Stepanie Miller in DC. I don't know if she's Air America or not, but she's fantastic. Incredibly funny. Then we get Ed Schultz. I like him a lot. We only get one hour of Randi Rhodes.
