Is any one listening to the Rice hearing on C-span 3?
Tom Lantos, and I guess he is a D.

Just said that he is impressed by Dr. Rice. That she had a successful trip to Europe. That it takes two to tango, but he is not sure the other partner (Europe) is ready to dance.

He went on to talk about our "so-called" allies!

And he is a Democrat?

Tom Lantos is serving his twelfth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was first elected to Congress in November 1980 - the only Democrat to defeat an un-indicted incumbent Republican in the year of the Reagan landslide. He won his seat by the lowest plurality of any Member of Congress elected that year - 46% to his opponent's 43%. Through excellent constituent service, careful attention to his district's needs, and hard work in the Bay Area and in Washington, Tom has been reelected repeatedly by large margins.

Sounds like he has his heart in the right place... not sure about what the deal is with Condi
Congressman Tom Lantos wrote an opinion piece entitled "Fixing the Patriot Act" that was published in the San Mateo County Times (February 12, 2004). The full text of that article is included here, because it provides a detailed summary of Tom's position on this legislation. He believes that a number of sections of this legislation have been misused in ways clearly not intended by Congress when the legislation was adopted. Based on how Attorney General John Ashcroft and other officials at the Justice Department have used the so-called Patriot Act, a number of important changes must to be made in the legislation.

2. He is also a neocon.
Lantos is a Holocaust survivor and, unfortunately, an Israel-firster.

3. Looks like you're right

"On the team of 'good news' commentators about Iraq, I would recommend to Sinclair three of the biggest warmongering members of the U.S. Congress: Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman (D-CT), Rep. Tom Lantos (D-CA) and Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX). All of them pushed, like mad dogs, for a U.S. war with Iraq. These three are typical of a revolting clique of political pygmies that have come to infest the Congress of our once-proud Republic."

4. Holy S...!
Tom Lantos just accused Syria of the Lebanon assassination!

"Demands a strong reply"

He has absolutely no proof.

Now he is trashing the Palestinians.
