Compare these two photos of possible hard passes
First, the one on Guckert:

Next, an image of somebody in the second row:

What do you think?

3. Yep, the angles are different in the photos
but the similarities are HUGE. So huge that one must say, Guckert most likely had a Hard Pass

2. Hard to tell
looks like just some slight differences.....

Isn't there a respectable Friendly journalist with a "hard pass" that could tell us the differences?

Hey Will Pitt!!! Do you know any WH correspondents????????

6. It would be so much simpler if someone would show us what a real
hard pass looks like. So much simpler.

10. Somebody suggested
that maybe JG had a different pass entirely. Maybe the kind that gives you access to the White House, like the White House gardener or other staff get.

Somebody needs to ask that question. Did JG have a day pass to the press conference, but a hard pass that gave access to the White House premises?

9. Someone on some report last night (can't remember)
said that day passes do not have your photo on them (which makes sense, because it's only supposed to be a temporary pass)so, any press pass with photo would be a hard one...

11. You'd think there'd be a record of day passes that were issued. Let's see
if Gannon's name was listed 400 to 500 times.

13. Will, how difficult is it to even get a day pass?
Certainly, it must not be an easy thing to do...as it was portrayed by Snotty. If that were the case, everyone would get one who had even a temporary or periodic employment as a journalist..they would have one. It would seem that in any year, many must request them..more than can actually be issued..so, how is that determined..who gets one? Certainly they must do more than just take ones word for it...they must do some checking, etc. Do you know what that involves? With a hard pass...i am sure much more investigation is done...and i do hope that we can show this to be a hard pass that gannon had on him...but even if it is not...there is something so wrong that he got the ongoing day passes..this is not just an accident or a coincidence...and they are all acting very guilty, defensive, evasive...and nervous.

14. At this point I have to say, I don't believe either are hard passes
I believe they are ID badges., One issued by GOPUSA for Guckert and the other issued by a real news agency for the reporter in teh second row.

I found this description posted at Dailykos:

Update <2005-2-15 9:39:19 by NYBri>: Here's a description of the press pass we are looking for: Hard passes are white for the upper 3/4 and brown for the lower 1/4. In the upper 3/4, brown stripes go from lower left to upper right but stop where the photo is superimposed. at the bottom of the white part is the person's name in BIG LETTERS and then the news organization in smaller letters, all black. in the brown part, it has the expiration date in little yellow letters and the words PRESS in large white letters.

15. Walt, whose pass is the second one.
They are claiming that the gerkins pass is not a WH press pass.
