Joe Lieberman just criticized Negroponte's appointment!
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 05:11 PM by Padraig18
He said "I thought that the first DNI should be someone with in-depth understanding of the intelligence community, something Ambassador Negroponte does not have."

5. Cool.
I never hated Joe as much as the average DUer.

He can still redeem himself, especially if he hangs tough on SS.

8. I never hated Joe, either.
Joe's a rock-solid progressive who hapens to be a military and foreign-policy hawk, which some folks here just can't deal with.

27. yep
Joe expected the position - in fact, he had some of his Repig pals in the Senate lobby for him - and now he's pissed.

I kind of wish he *had* been chosen. It would clear the way for a real Democrat to take his seat, and he probably wouldn't have been a major threat to civil liberties - I hope.
