Any DUers In California Plan To Vote For...
Georgy Russell? I just discovered her site today and she looks like a compelling candidate. I think that if I was voting, I would vote NO on recall and yes for Georgy Russell. What's the buzz on her?

1. And split the vote?
A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush.

A vote for anyone who isn't Bustamante is a vote for Arnold which of course is a vote for Bush.

2. I'll second that.
Californians need a united front in opposing this attempt to make our elections worthless.

the state over to Ahnuld, but is she really a joke? Is Howard Dean a joke who is going to hand the US over to Shrubco? She seems to take alot from the Dean playbook. Frankly, given all that we know about him, if Californians are dumb enough to vote for Ahnuld (regardless of his party affiliation) then they deserve what they get. If he was running as a Dem., which it sure sounds like he should be, would you vote for him? Would you vote no on recall and leave the replacement portion of your ballot blank?

14. The "condom full of walnuts" will break...
It won't be pretty.

And thank You Molly Ivins for that apt description of Arnold Schwarzeneger's campaign:

http://www.sacbee.com/content/opinion/national/ivins/story/7298330p-8242880c.html

If Davis is lucky he won't be the one to knock Arnold Schwarzeneger down. (Ewwwwww! Who wants to touch that?)

Fortunatly the Republican party in California is pretty notorious for backstabbing, and I wouldn't be surpised if it was one of Arnold's "own" who knocks him down.

Tom McClintock, an ideologue and experienced politician, is the natural GOP candidate.

I don't feel any great antipathy towards the other candidates. I think we should concentrate on voting AGAINST the Recall. I don't think this is a "Nader the monkeywrench" sort of situation.

I do know the "black ops" wing of the GOP will happily turn this into a "hanging chad" Florida style fiasco, so I'm looking out for that. It seems they really do want to get all those black box voting machines in there while their guys are on top...

4. MIKE FARRELL RAILS AGAINST RECALL, ASKS VOTERS TO LOOK TO GEORGY
http://georgyforgov.com/press10.htm

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 5, 2003

Los Angeles, CA – Actor Mike Farrell, a long time political activist and President of Death Penalty Focus, expressed his disgust with the recall and the frontrunners; sees a ray of light in Georgy's campaign.

"I have to say that as sympathetic as I am to the idea that the recall as organized is an insult to our democratic process and a right-wing attempt to grab a state governorship on the cheap, I'm not yet sure which way I'll go (on the recall vote).

Uncomfortable with the progressive options, Farrell points to Georgy as a "thoughtful option" in what appears to otherwise be an "exercise in embarrassment."

"If you're scratching your head about what is the right thing - and the best thing - to do, let me add something to the pot as it simmers. There is a bright young woman in the race whose name is Georgy Russell." At her website, www.georgyforgov.com, "you'll find about 20 pages of information on Georgy, her candidacy and her positions. You might be pleasantly surprised."

"I have incredible respect for Mike Farrell, who is courageous in championing human rights worldwide. I am happy to see he recognizes that Bustamante and Huffington leave something to be desired, and that what California needs isn't celebrity wisdom or a political re-run," Russell said after hearing of Mike's support.

is he? trying to split a dangerously close vote. Even if she were a better candidate than Cruz( and that's a great big IF),she can't win . So.... it's a vote vor Ahnold. And yes ,if Bustamante changes his campaign to yes on Recall, yes on Bustamante, I will leave part 2 blank

your ideals from political realities.Thanking you in advance from Arnold's staff too.

5. As appealing a candidate as Georgy is, this is not the time vote for her..
We're up against a right-wing power grab in California, pure and simple. A Republican candidate for governor, senator or president hasn't won in California since 1994. The Republicans want to re-write this and overturn the results of yet another election. It's time to tuck our egos into our hip pockets this one time, and vote for the Democratic candidate who has the best chance of winning. That would be Bustamonte.

It's not a question of who you like. It's a question of saving the damn state!

NO on the recall, YES on Bustamonte.

11. It's a question of saving the whole country.
If this succeeds in California, watch the power grabs in other states begin, by whatever means that are convenient.

12. She'll get less than 1/4 of one percent.
I don't think that her marginal candidacy is an issue. David Laughinghorse and Diane Templan will leave her in the dust. Vote Bustamante.
