Was Gannon servicing someone at the white house?
For someone to get a hard pass (pun intended) before having a job as a journalist they had to have something to offer besides spewing the company line. There are innumerable right wing hacks out there that would love to do that for them but something got this guy in. I have a feeling it has more to do with his talents in other areas. And who was he servicing? Inquiring minds want to know...

1. Proper term is debriefed.
There was a quid pro quo on mutual debriefings, I believe.

3. That's pretty good!
Maybe it is a future Letterman joke. Time will tell.

4. White House Correspondents Association
Did Jim/Jeff Gannon/Guckert ever attend the annual dinners? I don't know how to find guest lists.

5. Rove is very cheap
Maybe he was getting his jollies in trade for press credentials.

6. I'm Thinking More Blackmail
One would think that making $200 a night or $1200 a weekend would be a nice way to make a buck...so why chuck that to play "journalist" for a political sugar daddy from Texas? Especially since there isn't any trace of Gunkert ever participating in any Young Repugnicans or other activities prior to his transformation into "Jeff Gannon".

I'm wishing "Gannon" feels he's being spurned and decides to "tell all".

Any "checkbook journalists" out there? I'd be curious what "Jeff" would say if offered some National Enquirer folding green.

7. I think Gannon is probably in a position to blackmail several
closeted (probably married) wingnuts in the White House and other important high profile rethugs. I have not heard any right wing pundits talk about the possibility of blackmail. They go on and on about the military and intelligence services needing to purge gays because they can be blackmailed. They need to look just below their noses - it appears someone has/is being blackmailed. Don't they want to clean all the gays out of their party - what they have always said could happen is happening.

Meanwhile, they will remain unable to understand that being out and healthy makes you "blackmail proof".
