6. I do not agree on Negro but he is doing a good job with the other issues.
He is not my favorite Democrat but he can do some plain talk now and then. He does come across as a little wimpy.

7. I was right -- Reid is a no good SOB
and the Senate Dems sold out to the right by choosing Reid.

WHY?

Because he is an enemy of women -- he is an anti-choice SOB misogynist.

Now he thinks this idiot with blood on his hands is a 'right good guy'.

He is a DINO.

8. I disagree
I may disagree with Reid from time to time (that's democracy for ya), but he is just the sort of fighting Dem we needed as Minority Leader. He stood up to some pretty formidable forces in Nevada and stayed strong.

I am not a one issue voter, neither for nor against an issue. And I will not ride the rollercoaster. A good man doesn't become a traitor in one week, only to become a hero again when he stands up for something we like.

He is a good man that I will sometimes disagee with. And when Soc Sec kicks into full steam, not to mention the judicial nominees he's sworn to continue to vote against, we'll be glad he's on point. IMHO, of course.

12. Negroponte got confirmed for Ambasador to Iraq...
97 to 3. He will be confirmed as DNI with that sort of vote, as well. No amount of protest from Americans will change that.

13. Negroponte should be rotting in a Nicaraguan prison.
He's a murderous son of a bitch.

How on Earth could this possibly be a good thing? Or better yet how could a person of good will EVER praise that piece of Human Garbage?

14. He is NOT a good man
He is a turd -- a shit head.

His votes HURT women -- he is a self centered SOB.

It is one thing to hold an opinion -- but when forces his opinion on women then he is an enemy of women.

Reid is a shit head -- and a DINO -- and he is not a fighting DEM.

He has no balls and no backbone.

He stabs women in the back -- and probably is the cause of more than one death of women who could not get an abortion and had to resort to something very dangerous. EVERY single women who cannot have control over her own body because of chauvinist pigs vote will never have my support.

He has one of the very worst records on women's issues. He is a typical Republican -- he is NOT a democrat.

So now he thinks this horrible "person" Negroponte is a fine fellow. He'd probably shake hands with Hitler -- if that murdering bastard were still alive.

I prefer the term "The Appeasement Wing" of the party!

Alway's crying "we'll win by not pissing them off". We're the opposition party. Can we oppose ANYTHING?

16. I used to agree w/appeasement party, but it's clearly going beyond
that

Negroponte is clearly a candidate for the Hague Tribunal, based on his activities in Central America, and Chertoff is CLEARLY a perjurer, ignoring his ties to AQ finanCIERS, for christ sake

it's stunning, the total apathy of the dems, as well as the entire MSM, regarding both these criminals

17. Good Thing We Won't Be Joining That Pesky World Court!
They are just protecting OUR SOLDIERS after all!

I am with you. I have been crying foul and crying foul. Mainly it gets me flamed by moderates who want to keep holding our breath for some fairy god repug to fulfill our democratic wishes!

We have to fight every tainted appointee, every corrupt measure with what we have left. Fear of fighting is what marks the party right now. Learned helplessness!

18. Democrats In Congress Look Like A Pretty Weak Opposition
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 09:39 PM by Itsthetruth
Don't forget John Kerry's famous comment during the election:

"The Democratic Party is not an opposition party." And with some notable individual exceptions in Congress, they sure aren't acting like one, are they?

The Democratic Party as a party has not taken a position on many, if not all, the nominations made by Bush in his second term. And it will evade taking a clear stand on many major issues. That's because the party is a huge "tent" where everyone can do their thing.

The Republican party is more disciplined and united behind a right-wing and reactionary program. They crack the whip. If the Democratic Party ever unites and organizes in support of a progressive and militant program in opposition to the Republican agenda it might win some elections. It would also have to cut the corporate and Wall Street ties that bind, muzzle and control it.
