So what do freelance journalists do?

The National Press Association was conceived over 30 years ago to give the same level of access to freelance journalists enjoyed by those their colleges that are employed by large media corporations. You can finally get the respect that you deserve as a freelance journalist or photo professional by becoming a member of the prestigious National Press Association based in Washington D.C. The NPA enjoys an outstanding reputat

ion and its credentials are well respected.

Here's how it works.

Upon joining the NPA you will be rushed your complete press pack including your NPA Press pass with neck band, Your NPA wallet card, and Your membership certificate suitable for framing and rear view press identification decal, and 1 year membership to the NPA. All FREE with your Press Kit. ID's are sent with laminate and require (2) passport sized photos to complete. With the NPA you also will assigned a unique member number.
So how do they know it's real?

Because some people will try to use an illegitimate press pass to cheat promoters and gain illegal access to paid events. Today some promoters and political organizations require verification of your credentials prior to an event. Your NPA membership includes our 24 hour per day member verification service. A toll free number printed on the back of your press pass allows anyone to call 24 hours per day and verify that you are a certified member of the press. The NPA is the only service in the US or abroad to offer this service.

If the organization requires proof on company letterhead that you are a registered journalist with us, we will provide a confirmation letter by fax or mail to the event organizers or the media relations department.
When you are accepted, upon arriving, present your 'NPA Press' and confirm your name at the media gate with the media personnel on hand (your name should be on their list). Ideally, most event organizers will additionally issue you one of their own passes for their event, in which case you would have to wear both. After registering at the media gate, you will then be admitted to the press area or gallery of the event.
For crime scenes, press conferences, political events, etc... Usually your press pass alone will get you in the door. If further verification is needed refer the organizers to call the verification line 24 hours a day.

How fast can I get my ID?
Press kits are processed within 72 hours of the receipt of your membership application. To apply online click here.

Here’s what some of our members think:

"Thank you very much, they did work, this week end got right up to a crime scene to take photos..."

Jeebus, they can't even spell. "The National Press Association was conceived over 30 years ago to give the same level of access to freelance journalists enjoyed by those their colleges that are employed by large media corporations."

I assume they meant colleagues.

Edit to add quotation marks

4. It is probably REAL to those nudniks.
An abandoned Taliban building in Kabul contained an alarming document that apparently described how to make an atomic bomb. But a webmaster recognized it as a 1979 parody.

The FBI is investigating whether one of the suspected suicide hijackers received a novelty passport from the Conch Republic, a quirky Key West group that espouses "the mitigation of world tension through the exercise of humor."

Why do even bother with those twits?
