THE PRESIDENT: Herman.

Q Mr. President, good morning.

THE PRESIDENT: A face made for radio, I might add.

Like Bush is an oil painting? I guess he misses seeing his adoring Bulldog in the press room.

4. See what is happening!!!
Edited on Fri Feb-18-05 01:02 AM by Old Mouse
The questions of the reporters, except for 'jennifer' are getting bolder and more pointed! Gannon's exposure has made the press strike back! It was a real press conference, even from the television reporters. The blogs are making the press do their jobs! I'm running out of exclamation points!

" The Europeans want more support from the U.S. in their negotiations with Iran. Would the U.S. consider joining these talks? "

" I heard several reasons for recalling the Ambassador... but not an indication of whether you believe Syria bears some responsibility for the assassination. "

"Would you like it to be an international investigation , sir? "

"...what's your level of concern...that Israel will attack Iran to try to prevent that from happening? "

"...you made very clear that you would not rule out raising the cap on payroll taxes. If you were to do that , why would that not be seen as going back on your pledge not to raise taxes? "

" Chairman Greenspan yesterday, although supportive of those accounts, expressed two concerns: that he was worried about rushing something into print, if you will, and also about the borrowing, the transition costs that would be required, trillions. He was especially worried about the latter. What is your response to that? "

9. Yup, he used it last October at the Rose Garden conference
From Oct.2003. Here is the transcript: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2003/10/20031028-2.html

THE PRESIDENT: Yes, I believe my brother made the right decision. Yes, I'll sign the ban on partial birth abortion. And, no, I don't think the culture has changed to the extent that the American people or the Congress would totally ban abortions.

Let's see. Mark Smith, a radio man.

Q Thank you very much, sir, for including our radio folks here.

THE PRESIDENT: A face for radio. (Laughter.)

Q I wish I could say that was the first time you told me that, sir. (Laughter.)

THE PRESIDENT: The first time I did it to a national audience, though. (Laughter.)

Q Actually -- my wife the last time. (Laughter.)

Har Har Har, he's such a joker. :eyes:

12. That is unpresidential.
But it's ok because he's a Republican.

If Bill Clinton had said that to a reporter, he'd be crtiicized for arrogance.

But for a Republican, arrogance is treated like a virtue.

18. He's just a nasty little twerp
I've said it before: Bush is Lord Farquaad personified. He's a vile, prissy little Fancy Pants jerk who makes fun of his foolish supporters by pretending to be Christian then doing exactly the opposite of what Christ would do. Can you imagine Jesus saying something like that?

He and Rush are two of a kind. They must laugh their butts off when they talk of suckering veterans out of their benefits, shipping jobs offshore, cutting off farmers subsidies, ruining Social Security. . . and on and on and on.
