HOLY SHIT!

Getting banned from rightnationus.com, and not just banned, but awarded an 'asshat', is probably the highlight of my week!

But how could I know the type of ignorance I was dealing with?

I was called a liar because I said I was a Moderate Republican and was found to be posting here.

I'm seeing more and more why moderates like Specter and McCain are being called 'traitors'.

I tried debate in their forum, and found that some there did not understand debate.
I followed the rules and was never given a warning. The best part... it was the same day I do my donations that they banned me!

I couldn't feel more relieved.

But how interesting it is that instead of simply banning me... they put an obscene avatar under my name, Assign me to a group called 'liar', and post a link to my last post on DU as 'proof'.

How remarkable that is when members there actually admonished my attackers for not debating me on substance.

You might go and notice that I did mention I was mistaken about being 'banned'. But it is true that I could not post for over a day... it was quite logical on my part to assume I was indeed 'banned'.

I highly doubt you will be banned, or have your avatar replaced with an 'Asshat' if you earnestly state your opinions here and back them up with either logic or documentation.

Yes, I'm daring you to stay and see what these people are all about.

I know it's not comfortable to be somewhere where people may not agree with you at all... guess how I know.

So long as you are trying to earnestly engage in debate, I doubt you will be censured... that is assuming you know how to debate.

I have SOME moderate views on things (drugs, prostitution, immigration, Jesuslovin) and so I have been tossed off those sites because I'm pro-homosexual rights, against abortion strongly but fully believing it's better to allow it than have women killing themselves with coathangers or getting hit in the stomach with ballbats to terminate the pregnancy, and anytime I'd speak of those or issues for the poor or environment, the right wing pricks would go hardcore on my posts and toss me. DU is the best website for discussion... ever.

7. No such thing as a moderate Republican anymore.

You either drink the kool-aid or you don't. You either accept that Bush does nothing wrong or you are "one of them". The extreme RW of the Republican Party has taken over. No room for intelligent conversation and debate. Reality is what the daily RNC talking points tells you it is.

Moderate Republicans need to do the right thing....re-register as Democrats and the elected ones need to move accross the aisle. Once we put these treasonous criminals behind bars, you can go back and run your party....then we can debate policy minutae, like in the old days.

When I'm on a tangent a moderate post helps me consider my position. Freeper posts are pretty easy to ignore. I've been over to FR a few times from links and find it amazing how little substance there is. Here everything is up for grabs. And I think that makes it much more relevant.

I'm not familiar with the site you reference, but think FR gets a pass when we accept them as an "equal adversary." It wouldn't bother me a bit if they were never referenced here,
