My interview with John Forbes Kerry
Edited on Wed Sep-10-03 02:50 PM by WilliamPitt
Mr Kerry, isn't it true that you didn't actually earn your Purple Hearts? Aren't those in fact "trivial" medals?

*scuffling sounds, me screaming as decorated Vietnam vet rightfully kicks the shit out of me, sound of several other vets joining in*

Mr Kerry, isn't it true that you sold out the POWs and MIAs?

*sound of crowbar weilded by decorated Vietnam vet smashing my skull*

Mr. Kerry, is it true that you played hockey in high school with Robert Mueller, and that your locker-room association with him has compelled you to join the Bush Family Evil Empire?

*sound of me being checked into the boards, squishing noise as hockey stick is rammed up my ass, laughter at such retarded questions echoing in the background*

Mr. Kerry, isn't it true that your college association with Skull & Bones means you are fully and completely in bed with Bush and Cheney and the rest?

*sound of my skull and bones being broken, continued hysterical laughter in the background as questions get dumber and dumber and dumber*

Thank you, sir. Let us both continue our evil ways.

*One last punch to my face for wasting his time and for destroying my credibility*

You should have told me you were speaking to Kerry! I thought we were friends and co-workers! I helped you talk to Dean and this is the thanks I get? I'm offended. The least you could have done is ask me to help set it up for you! And then I have to find out about it by reading it on DU?

9. You have credibility, Will?
I thought that went out the window right about the time I interviewed you.

I like Kerry. I wouldn't have any qualms voting for that guy come November '04. I would like to see him become more animated and hammer the Chimp. I think even though he voted for the war that it wouldn't hurt him at all, quite the contrary in fact, if he came out and busted some skulls on how wrong the invasion was.

46. Oracle, whoever you are KNOCK IT OFF!
You have done my Hero and candidate NO good with your vicious rantings about other candidates. I resent it and I will NOT let it sit unchallenged.

My candidate stands for Peace, for human decency, for integrity, honesty and civility. You've displayed NONE of those qualities here. William Pitt on the other hand has displayed MANY of those qualities repeatedly and, while his personal support is behind a different candidate, he's done much to spread Congressman Kucinich's message to the general population. Possibly MORE than he's done for his own candidate.

There is nothing to be gained by my candidate by viciously attacking the others in the field. It serves no purpose whatsoever and does nothing to explain Kucinich's plans to the people who need to hear them. I ask you now as a fellow Kucinich supporter to cease these assaults.

PLEASE, stop tarring the Congressman's message of hope and vision of a better America with vitriol and hate. It is NOT a part of Kucinch's platform.

57. Good for you!
I am very impressed by your attitude. :)

I am glad to see someone who asks for fair and ethical behavior in the electoral process. It's not every day you see such dedication to doing the right thing during campaigns.

Your stance and refusal to allow negative remarks - especially when it hurts a candidate other than your own, and might even benefit yours indirectly - needs to be acknowledged. Your passion for a peaceful process is commendable.

The people who push this insane bullshit make a belly-laughing joke out of all the legitimate criticisms you and others have for Kerry. There's plenty to kick his ass over without making crap up. You should be more pissed than me. Jokers like this destroy your credibility by proxy. Help me deal with it, so we can talk about Kerry's war vote and other policy positions without having to bat down paranoia and lies. I'd be more than happy to fight on that ground.

27. Kerry's Trivial Injuries
The issue isn't whether Kerry was actually awarded three purple hearts; he was. However, the fortunes of war being what they are, some injuries are trivial. The term is necessarily relative, because war wounds extend from small bruises to grisly death. It's not inappropriate to describe Kerry's non-disabling injuries as "trivial".

Kerry used his three trivial injuries as the basis of his request for reassignment after only four months in country. A healthy, able-bodied John Kerry boarded the plane back to the United States, having completed only a third of the tour that he volunteered for.

It's fair to ask John Kerry what brought about this change of heart. If he was so gung ho that he volunteered for combat, did the experience of combat lose its appeal once he found himself in it? He did actually have to request reassignment; and it was somewhat irregular for an officer of his rank to do so. It's an easy question: Why did John Kerry leave Vietnam after only four months?

So much for Cleland's political judgement. You might argue that Cleland had no choice but to support Bush's war, but that argument doesn't help Kerry. Regardless of their personal histories, neither Senator showed much courage that day.
