How Would America Be Different If It Was 90% Gay and 10% Straight?

Theoretical physicists suggest that ours may just be one of an infinite number of parallel universes. In some of them, things are very similar down to the minutest detail. In others, things are radically different.

You and I are sipping tea in the English countryside right now...somehwere.

So how do you think things are different in Alternative Universe America 2005 with 90% percent of the population gay and the remaining 10% comprising the hetero-minority?

Would hetero marriage or even relations be legal?

Would conservative ministers rail against the evils of hetero Sponge Bob?

How about hetero couples marching in the "bizzaro" St. Patrick's Day parade?

On edit: Somewhere in the universe(s) is Bizarro Gannon being grilled over his heteroporn site?

of us. It's nice to think of all the great things we gays would do, but humanity at its core "needs" to survive and we need the heteros to do it. I think we would have imprisoned them and made them "breed" for us in camps.

I think things would get worked out. It just takes transfering some fluid.

Lets assume that for the purposes of this question reproduction not need equal heterosexual intercourse.

Although, I do like the breeding camp solution. I hear webcam!

Also, homosexuality would be treated as the norm rather than some underground social disease, so we would no longer be barraged by the media with stereotypes in pinkface. Heterosexuals would be stereotyped as breeders, but would be treated much better in most instances than homosexuals are now treated. However, sexism would likely be a greater problem, though not solely against women, in some areas. Religion would be different, though not necessarily drastically so. The sports industry would no longer be a defining power in our country, many artistic endeavors, especially in design, would be. Religious fundamentalists would be the freaks who would gather together in secret to practice abstinence.

24. Making babies would be like jury duty plus doctor's visit

People would be drafted and required to have babies (like being called for jury duty).

At first, it would be done "the old-fashioned way," until the day medical science perfects artificial insemination.

However, if the world were mostly gay, you could bet that artificial insemination and fertility drugs would have been invented a lot sooner. We'd also be very close to artificial wombs by now.

I don't know if straight people would be persecuted, but I'd be willing to bet they wouldn't be allowed to raise their own children.

It would be considered distasteful for a child to be raised in an environment where opposite-sex copulation was considered "pleasant" rather than its natural use as a means of producing babies.

They might be allowed to marry, POSSIBLY raise their own children, but straight couples wouldn't be allowed to adopt.
