God, do I LOVE DU!! It's a place where you can really express your true feelings -- as long as they are totally waaaay left. It also helps to hate --and I mean REALLLY REALLY HATE -- the United States, George Bush, the American Flag, men, straight people generally, white folks, (did I mention the USA?), Laura Bush, "crackers", pro-lifers, people who shop at Walmart, school principals, men, (did I already say white folks?), sane people, people who think that America did not deserve to be attcked on 9/11, and straight people.

I enjoy hating. It's o ne of my favorite activities. And I have found many of my hateful and hate-filled soulmates at DU. There is just so much to hate, and so little time to express the hatred we all feel for so many different things.

I also enjoy using profanity -- lots and lots of disgusting profanity. It saves me the trouble of having to think AND of having to express my ideas with any clarity. Most of the conversations over on DU have lots and lots of "f" words.

It's MY favorite place all right. No thought -- just pure, hateful emotion rules!

If you are a Democrat, liberal, Green or Progressive who is sick and tired of the muted debate in other political forums, DU is for you. If you are a disenfranchised Republican who has been banned from other sites because you are horrified by the current state of your party, DU has a place for you. If you are a Democratic moderate who wants to weigh in on political strategy, DU is the best sounding board you will ever find.

If you are a strident neoconservative, you should find another place to hang out.

When I first start posting on DU, everyone called me a freeper! I'm a moderate Democrat while many on DU are pretty far to the left. And not for nothing, but it's true that there are many conspiracy theorists on DU -- yesterday there two or three posts saying that the Gannon story is somehow a trick to make us not notice other things!!

Although I still wish we treated newbies and moderates in general nicer -- I think a lot of people get scared away that would otherwise stay and perhaps be converted, so to speak. I personally have no trouble defending my strong opinions (of which I have plenty), but not everyone has as thick a skin as me -- I think some people just go away and never come back, which is a shame because we lose people who could become activistsand further the cause of defeating the evil that is Bush, Rove & Co.

77. I found this by looking for something entirely different on a

conservative discussion board. I have only visited about 3 times, but the place is totally obsessed with DU. It wasn't free republic, but "freeper" still applies to these sorts.

They have threads pointing their "trolls" here, then they discuss our members/posts. The obsession is quite odd. Even if you look at the reviews on DU, they must troll here in order to be aware.

They used to have these threads out in the open, but it looks as though they've changed it to member viewing only.

As I've said, I've only visited this place on rare occassion, because it's not that interesting, but I was looking to see if they were trolling a thread here and stumbled upon the amazon.com "mission" LOL.
