Demonstration in Support of JG and the 1st Amendment
D.C. Chapter to Hold Demonstration in Support of Jeff Gannon and the First Amendment, 2/18/05
Friday, February 18, 2005 | Kristinn

Posted on 02/18/2005 6:28:03 AM PST by kristinn

All FReepers and lurkers in good standing are invited to join the D.C. Chapter in our demonstration this evening. Details in the following press release:

DEMONSTRATION IN SUPPORT OF JEFF GANNON
&
THE FIRST AMENDMENT

WHEN: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 2005, 6 P.M. TO 8 P.M.
WHERE: THE SIDEWALK BY MONICA’S GATE,
AKA THE NORTHWEST VISITORS ENTRANCE
THE WHITE HOUSE, 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVE., NW, WASHINGTON, D.C.

(Washington) The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic, an independent grassroots organization, will be holding a demonstration at the White House this evening in support of former Talon News White House Correspondent Jeff Gannon and the rights of other reporters to do their jobs without fear of being destroyed by the political establishment.

The group will also be bringing attention to several First Amendment-related issues pertaining to the current imbroglio. Among them are the unconstitutional efforts of Democratic congressmen to determine who is a reporter and efforts by the establishment media to shut out Internet-based news sites from having access to government press conferences.

Kristinn Taylor, Co-Leader of the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic, issued the following statement: “It is common knowledge that Jeff Gannon was singled out for personal destruction for the crime of asking a question of the President of the United States at a press conference that was insulting to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.

“The Clintonista slime machine, led by former Clinton White House Chief of Staff John Podesta’s Media Matters for America, went into high gear and made an example of Mr. Gannon to any reporter who might dare to challenge Sen. Clinton’s credibility in her anticipated 2008 presidential candidacy.

“What was done to Mr. Gannon was the Clinton impeachement era Ellen Romesch strategy played out for all concerned parties to see. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic will be out demonstrating for the rights of Mr. Gannon and all other reporters to exercise their rights without fear of personal destruction.”

2. This is not a 1st Amendment issue!
Edited on Fri Feb-18-05 01:35 PM by chicagojoe
The issue is that an individual was privy to national security info
when he wasn't supposed to be. It's also an issue of the White House
Traitors trying to make life easy for the traitorous George Bush.
Bush is no better than Saddam or any other tyrant. He belongs at the end of a rope!!!

Editted for spelling.

4. What has the toy boy got to do with the first amendment?
:wtf: Nobody is telling him he can't talk (well, nobody outside of the WH) We just deny that he is a legitimate journalist and therefore should not be in WH press conferences.

By the way, lurking wingers, the US Congress, under GOP control, agrees with us. They determined he was not a legitimate journalist from a legitimate news organization.

9. without fear of being destroyed by the political establishment
:wtf: are they talking about?
It is the ameircan people that exposed the douchbag, and not because they wanted to silence a reporter, because he is a FRAUD!

6. That Kristinn Taylor
(who is a man with a woman's name) takes himself so seriously. From his posts at freep he appears to be a loser with no life, especially since Clinton left office and he can't go protest at the White House EVERY Saturday. He has this horrible beard, and I wonder if he takes it personally when the freepers make fun of Al Gore's beard, because Kristinn's is quite similar to Al's. It's pathetic.

10. It is not a joke. They are serious.
You should go read the thread at freep. They are arguing because some of them don't think Gannon should be defended. I still don't get how Gannon's first amendment rights are threatened -- if they're going to use that argument, then they should be helping out Ward Churchill. And now they're starting to think that somehow, Hillary Clinton is behind it all. They are so psycho, but so entertaining.

8. Will Gannon be giving out free BJs to the Freepers?
free, he will likely up his price, because NOW you can get sucked by the mouth that sucked Karl Rove and perhaps Emperor Tiberius Bunnypants' Royal Member.

Freepers'll be lining up around the block to have their Fireman where their Godly and Noble Fuhrer had his.
