6. The United States? Where is that place other than the ashes of history?
(and the hearts of Americans who's hearts yearn to be truly free once again)

The United States is gone, perhaps dead and gone for all of time, but only time will tell.

The Amerikan Empire is where we live today, where the wretched remnants of Free America dreams of a restyoration that history says is not coming.

I must confes a certain disdian for the slopiness of the language of people who continue to talk about "The United States".

Maybe it's that such inappropriate talk makes me nostalgic, which makes me upset for what has been lost and is not likely to return.

But in either case, there simply is no United States to leave or stay.

We live in the Amerikan Empire.

the United States was the Leader of the Free World.

The Amerikan Empire doesn't even belong to the Free World.

The United States had inspectable, auditable voting systems (which didn't mean they were perfect or moral, but they could be recounted and crosschecked as need be).

Imperial Amerika has unverifiable, unrecountable uninspectable voting covering 35% of it's Subjects, soon to be 100%.

The Old United States had a Free Press that was the Envy of the Free World.

The Imperial Amerikan Press is a Global laughingstock who's outstanding modality is the reporting of celebrity sex scandals and self-censorship in order to remain loyal to the Empire and the Imperial Family.

The Old United States had a System of Checks and Balances that was among the world's finest.

Imperial Amerika has the ghost echo of that system, all the forms with none of the reality (or shall we say, a little bit, here and there, that makes one pause.

And so on.

The United States? Oh, I heard it was once a great and free nation? Though I cannot remember anymore what it was really like to liove in such a place.

I guess I will have to be satisfied with the Ghost Echo that itself will be gone within 20 years and perhaps much sooner.
