Watching today's Crossfire, I again affirm my view that US politics has become nothing but a big football game to some people, especially the college-aged white Republican male.

The segment featured our most popular Presidents and every mention of Reagan brought loud and long raucous yahoos from the yahoos. Ideaology is no longer important as long as they "win", as long as they "beat" someone. They took delight in a coordinated cheer every time the name came up, often making certain that their loud voices overshadowed the host and guests. I would love to have asked these young men two questions: 1. Name three things you applaud Reagan for; and 2. Why aren't you in Iraq?

Hey, they want to idolize Reagan, fine with me. I just would feel more comfortable about our future if they knew _why_ they were cheering and woo-hooing, other than that he had an (R) after his name.

That fact that Ronnie n Nancy could raise such an intelligent, rational, politically independent son has redeemed them SLIGHTLY in my sight.
