2. 6 is better than 1
That is all that really matters. Murkowski, Stevens, Campbell, Snowe, Chafee and Specter all voted with the Democrats and the republicans could only get Miller. He always votes with the republicans. That is just what he does. But, Campbell usually sides with the republicans and Specter has turned sharply to the right due to his primary next year. I don't know if the Murkowki and Stevens votes were just because of Alaska issues or that they really disagreed ideologically with Bush. And then we got Chafee and Snowe who are more conservative than Miller is liberal.

13. Campbell was a Dem when he was first elected to the Senate...
in 1992. Switched to Repub after the Great Unpleasantness of 1994. Funny - did not hear any Jeffords-like bashing then, wonder why?

4. Bye Zell!
I would rather have a Repug in that seat then a Dem who acts like a Repug.

5. Now, that's not fair...

Zell voted with the Democrats on a vote earlier today. Surely, you cannot expect him to vote with his party and against his beloved Republican reich-wing whackos TWICE in one day??

7. Zell
A Republican friend once told me that if Democrats would just be more like Zell Miller they would win elections all the time.

8. His Office Wouldn't Say Yesterday
which way he would vote, he hadn't taken a position. I said, well then it sounds like he's going with his party, The Republican Party.

12. Well, I'm sure someone can tell us why
Once again, Zell heads to the other side of the aisle. Working folks? You want pay for working past 40 hours in a week? Go hang!

But I'm sure I'm missing something. There have, in the past, been no shortage of DUers around to tell us why Zell alone is right and the other 47 Democrats in the Senate were totally wrong on this bill, and how lucky the Democratic party is to have a man of Zell's character and integrity working for us in the Senate.

I'm very sure of it.
