Would a sister news site help DU break the MSM barrier?
I hear constant complaints that the MSM is not covering issues important to people in the progressive bloggs.

I suggest that a separate sister news site be created. Hire a few skilled journalists and tell the story the way that DU people want it told. DU is raw and gritty and the MSM does not want anything to do with it. No major news source will ever quote from or link to DU. A separate news site might make the ideas valued here more coherent, visible and credible.

1. That's a good idea
Apparently GOPUSA did that if you believe Guckert in his CNN interview.

3. But the White House wouldn't let someone from a sister website of DU

into the briefings.

They wouldn't even let someone from a conservative website in without powerful connections like James Guckert has.

Is this just to prove we couldn't get in or what?

4. you are talking about somethinglike fox news...
but on the web and leaning left. it might work but keep in mind:
1.fox news is never attributed for any story.
2.the blogs are like "the word on the street" journalist always fact check "the word on the street" before breaking them on air.
3."the word on the street" is where juicy stories come from.
3.journalist respect sources who have an agenda they already know where they are coming from and thatthey have to "fact check them." if they are getting information from a so called unbiased or "un-agenda" source then the jounalist will not respect the source as much because he is not being honest with the reporter.

hope this makes sense...keep brainstorming me and you are on the same track the media plays a big role in politics.
