I don't like how Stahl is trying to downplay the news media's fault for not covering the destruction of the environment. How the hell are they not at fault when they choose to cover Michael Jackson as opposed to ocean temperatures in the Antarctic dropping because of melting ice?

Now I have to stay up till 2 am when the show is repeated on HBO West. Dang. How could this guy, who couldn't get a pass to cover the Congress, pass muster to get into the White House? I don't get it.

The only thing Iraqis voted for was who would be their new landlord. All the supposed liberals, Biden, Williams and Maher just jumped all over each other singing the praises of GWB's contribution to Iraqi freedom for allowing a sham election to proceed despite the fact that the US has established de facto economic colonization over the entire country. Elections, BTW, that GWB originally opposed but changed his stance when he saw what a liability this opposition would create in regard to his *ahem* foreign policy.

It would have been nice if one person had brought up the fact that when Bremer slipped out of the Iraq last year like a deadbeat tenant in the middle of the night he left in place a "Constitution" that privatized all Iraqi assets and mandated that foreign investors could transfer all profits, shares and dividends offshore without oversight. Also, it allowed complete foreign ownership of Iraqi banks and removed restrictions on trade and capital flows. In addition, by executive order, blanket legal immunity has been granted to US corporations against any and all claims of harm by Iraqi citizens.

More smoke and mirrors disguised as free discourse, IMHO.

...Never liked his stand-up and don't like his acting. He gets on my last nerve.

I knew he was going to do such tonight and spoil any chance for a true roundtable of discussion.

He didn't disappoint in that regard. I was off mark in one way: I thought he would leave his seat a minimum of 6 times during the show and he only did it 4 that I saw.
