What Are The Pre/Post War "Metrics" On World Terrorism?

The State Department does an annual report on world terrorism but its definitions are suspect and not in real time. For example it includes bombings of oil pipelines in S. America but not attacks against occupation troops in Iraq.

My real interest is what is the trend with Islamic fanaticism and a good measure might be suicide attacks against both military and civilian targets. Is this trend up or down since Bush invaded Iraq? Are there any sites that keep such data in real time?
