Have you ever hated anyone before * ?
I am a peaceful person. A "hippie" even, in the old, good, meaning. I give everyone a break. I am open minded. And yet I find myself hating George W. Bush for what he has done to my country. I thought Reagan was a bad president. I thought Nixon was a bad president. But I didn't HATE them the way I DESPISE this POS that has hijacked our country and attacks it every single day.

I've never hated anyone in my life, so I'm not very good at it. But this awful, black-hearted, soulless bastard makes me angrier than anyone has ever made me in my life. I depise him.

Is there some good use for this feeling? I don't like feeling this way about the leader of my country.

1. I used to even say I didn't hate HIM, but his policies and actions.
Edited on Sat Feb-19-05 06:42 PM by Bouncy Ball
And that's still true, but more and more I actually personally despise him.

And you know what? I'm ok with that. I'm human. I despise him (and actually all those in his administration who go along with and promote these actions, too) because of the damage he has done and continues to do to this country and the WORLD.

It's not like I'm hating someone because they have more than me, or because of jealousy or something. In other words, LOL, I have very good reason to.

That being said, I know someday time will dull the fires, when he's been out of office a long time, when we've hopefully repaired a lot of this damage, and all this is a distant, very bad memory.

But for now, I'm ok with it. My feelings about him and his administration spur me to action. And that's a GOOD thing. He and his ilk MUST be opposed. And if I felt neutral about him, I wouldn't be so motivated to act.

(On edit: I never answered your original question and the answer is no. I have never hated ANYONE before him, cheney, rumsfeld, all of them. They are truly the first.)

3. Not a President
Edited on Sat Feb-19-05 06:49 PM by lisa58
I was depressed when the first Bush was elected and I never felt that way before - but this one is everything I hate about human nature. He's got a bad attitude - he's got bad friends - his sense of arrogance and entitlement - where does it end???

I hate him because he filed a lawsuit to stop counting votes in 2000. How unAmerican is that? How selfish? How disrespectful? There is virtually nothing he can ever do to gain my respect - I could only reach neutral on him (and that may take many lifetimes).

6. It is not just the "man" it is the group of them. It is the sickness.
I cannot even feel hatred for bush. He disgusts me too much. I do have an incredible hatred for the machine that churns out innocent blood.

10. Exactly!
It's a disease of fear and lust for power - it really crushes those who are generous of spirit and want to accept everyone as they are.

7. I don't think it is really a wrong
thing to hate evil and * and his cohorts we increasingly find represent what is evil in the world. Would it be wrong to not hate that? How can it be condoned or embraced in any way, they are the opposite of what is good. It's not a matter of a different opinion where you can respect the person who thinks differently than you it's a whole new way of life, of looking at others, that they represent.

8. I never hated anyone, until *.
I even feel guilty when I say it, because hate really isn't part of me. I've even asked myself WHY? What is it about him that aggrivates me so much? I don't have a good answer. There are a lot of individual things, but nothing in particular. I guess most of it involves his arrogance. I remember detesting the arrogant GW when he first said he was running for Pres. His promoters all said there is no way he can loose because of already having $35 million in his war chest already. I guess that was the first thing that really turned me off, and it's been down hill from there.

9. LIMBAUGH, BU$HCO, and all these people that want to manipulate you...
want you to be in a mode of hatred.

If you are hateful...you simply can't think.

Gun owners hate Democrats because they think they will lose their guns.
Anti-abortionists live their hatred for democrats because they think we like the idea of abortion.

It goes on and on....

The whole idea is to suck the brains out of your head...getting you to foster a continuous hatred for something.

Exactly how Hitler was able to get people to do the unthinkable.....

23. Your point is well taken.
However, I think that here, hatred towards Bush and the whole administration cannot be helped by lots of people. We do need to be careful and not allow ourselves to get to the point where we might do something that could have long-term, unpleasant consequences. (I can't think what those might be; maybe somebody else can.) We simply must not stop thinking!

20. Same here
I thought I hated Nixon - but I didn't know what true hate was until this cretin. I hated Reagan's policies, and made fun of him, but it never reached the level of "hate."

The worst of all of this - I hate to hate - and Dumbya has put me in a non-stop hate fest.

13. I don't think I have
not like this. Not someone I didn't personally even know. I can't bear to see pictures of this man (or Cheney, or KKKKarl or Condilier, et al). In my 49 years, I have really hated only one person - and it was someone I knew, and someone I had good reason to hate, since they basically destroyed my job/career, for no reason except that they liked doing that kind of thing. But even then, I didn't feel it this strongly.

I've always tried to see the good in people, so it's difficult for me to even dislike anyone. I don't see ANY good in these people, but I see a lot of evil. I'd say it's hate, and I'm ok with it, too. I think they are deserving of it.

15. 'hate' is a very strong word
i don't hate anything or anybody. i can get to hating my kids' behavior when i'm on a rampage, but i don't see 'hate' as part of my reality.

i dislike the president and all his men. i dislike what they do. i'm actually blown away that there are such dishonest, vengeful people with twiested vision in the world! when i read the headlines every day (the alternative headlines, that is...), i sit here with my mouth open, jaw dropped wide in disbelief about what goes on.

but hate? no.

22. Probably not, at least not the way I have hated Bush since the
2000 election. I never felt closer to an Iraqi than on the day they showed Saddam on TV after his capture. They showed an Iraqi man spitting at Hussien's image on TV and I thought, "we too, spit at our unelected 'leader' when we see him on TV."

When the "leader of your country" is a fraud and is leading you and everyone else down the path to endless war and Bushruptcy, there is nothing wrong with hating him. I saw a great bumper sticker the other day:

BORN OKAY
the first time...

At least in my opinion, if you hate Bush, you were born okay and haven't done anything since to screw it up. Trust me, you are not alone and are in good company.

24. When you Hate, you Demonize
Edited on Sun Feb-20-05 01:56 AM by Grey Ranks
This is dangerous in my opinion. The same things that made him what he is are in all of us. We should recognize them in both him and ourselves, an seek to destroy them in both. With ourselves through force of discipline, in other through example.

Yes, I think you can use these feeling for good. GWB has only spurred me to action. Not through hate of him of what he does, but through self-respect and love of the ideals and people of America.

25. I've hated Hannity for years. O'Reilly and Coulter, too.
Limbaugh never bothered me, because he's so damned cartoonish. I know he's done more damage than any of them, but he's so overblown that he almost seems like some kind of brilliant performance artist instead of a dipshit right-wing propagandist. I used to half expect him to come out and say, "gotcha! You really thought I believed this stupid shit?! Ha!".

The Bush Administration is the first group of politicians I've ever actually hated. Even Reagan didn't get me like these people do. I didn't hate Reagan for the same reasons as Limbaugh, as a matter of fact.

I've never hated anyone I knew personally.

I've never disliked someone enough to call it hate. I feel dirty. But I do hate Bush. All the pain he's caused people and all the lives he's ruined. And like someone else mentioned, before it was just his policies...but not now. Not after the truth about 9/11 and just everything.
