FILM: "Cindy, a tomboy (gasp!) unsure of her social status.....
dreams of a party where her fairy godmother gives her etiquette lessons, and wakes up to receive her very own invitation. Filmed in Lawrence, Kansas, 1955 by "Young America Films". The girl is not invited to the party because "they probably think I'd rather play basketball or go fishing." Note the telltale wallpaper with cowboys and horses and other decidedly unfeminine things. Thank goodness her fairy godmother shows up to make a lady out of her. Later, she coaches Cindy and her geeky male friend on how to PARTY! (Join in games! Don't be too noisy! Leave on time!)

Ahh, yes, the Republican version of "America" that they yearn for so much! Soon Cindy will study Home Ec. at the University of Kansas and make someone a GOOD WIFE!

4. Gee, I was a tomboy who cut my teeth riding horses.
Not that it matters, but I'm straight - as straight as they come. Hell, I even think the male body is more attractive than the female body, athestically speaking!! :wow: I even wear makeup when I think about it!

And, my "fairy" Godmother wouldn't have had it any other way.

:P on Republicans' version of America.

5. They had really great drugs in Kansas back then
Those Fairy Godmother lines can't be read by someone who's not stoned.

7. My internet radio station has a section...
called "Poverty Row Theater" that plays all sorts of movies from this website; the social-guidance films are hysterical..
