Bush ignores Helen Thomas in favor of Gannon? That's damning
It says everything about him knowing who he selected, where they are from and what to expect from them. His nicknames say even more about his "relationship" with the press whores. This is a coward who doesn't like surprises. He knew what he was going to get when he selected Gannon vs. Thomas and somebody ought to want to know why.

1. No kidding. She has been sidelined almost the entire time since Bush
took office. She is a woman and she is smarter than Bush, a sure bet that she wouldn't get called on.

I don't think the president should get to chose who he calls on, there should be a more open and fair way to give reporters access.

3. Helen is a Hero
How telling is it that an old woman is tougher than the rest of the press corps.

2. When the Press Corpse (sic) saw Thomas banished to the back
they should have known right then and there that their souls were bought and paid for. Not one person stood up and defended her. They all meekly bowed and scraped.

It's their editors who run the show, but they're on the front line and should have said something. Now we have this fiasco of Jiffy-Lube Jeff, and it makes all of them look just as bad. You have to wonder, who else got in there for reasons other than merit?

6. This is the story -- ignoring the real journalist
and calling on a phony.

The fact that there is an element of sex is almost beside the point BUT this detail is what will keep this story on the front burner so that all the details and questions can be examined.

The white house has been "sexed" up -- at last! So the public will be interested -- and hopefully the media will know how to play this angle to keep the stories coming.

Basically it is no one's business about someone's personal and private business -- HOWEVER -- the White House opened this can of worms by using the gay issue -- <gasp> gay marriage -- or can't talk about one of the primary reasons teenagers turn to suicide -- society's reaction to homosexuals.

The White House has made this an issue -- so perhaps now is the time to discuss this issue until it becomes non threatening.

What will it take for Americans to get over their approach/avoidance attitude toward sex? Many citizens of European countries are a bit more mature about sexual subjects.
