2. Convince me to vote for her.
I live on the other side of the country, so until recently, I hadn't heard much about her.

3. She has integrity and shows no fear.
http://www.boxer2008.com/why.html

While other Democrats in the Senate and House of Representatives have rolled over in surrender to the extremist agenda of George W. Bush and the Republican political elites, Barbara Boxer has consistently stood up for what's right. While other Democrats of national stature have been silent about the rampant abuses of the law coming from the Bush Administration, Senator Boxer has had the strength and integrity to say NO, and demand answers for the American people.

5. That's not convincing me, that's
her introduction by the mayor.

What does she stand for? How does she feel about immigration, welfare, social security and abortion?

:)

I reserve my right to vote for ANYBODY until I know everything about them!!

11. If you're really interested you can look all that up yourself.
And you owe it to yourself in order to make informed decisions.

My reason for posting on this thread is to share that yes, there is a movement underway to support Sen. Boxer for President.

It's really early to start campaigning for anyone.

15. I'm not trying to start
an argument, but "you can look it up" is what Kerry did. That doesn't work. I'll be voting for the Democratic candidate, but what REASONS can you give me to vote for HER? My parents live in NH- why should they vote for BB in the primary?

A very progressive Democrat! I'm glad that she is my Senator.

4. Tell me three things you know about Barbara Boxer that don't have...
...to do with her votes on Bush appointments after January 1, 2005.

6. Why would you throw away a good candidate
On a stolen election? Until you know THEY aren't stealing elections I think it's a safe assumption that they are.

10. How come?
Look, if she runs, you're going to have to articulate her qualities to people, and you're going to have to explain why she should win.

Start me me!

13. my point, that he/she was agreeing with, (I think)
the jury is still out on BB. I support what she's been doing but I'm not ready to support a presidential bid.

...even down to the mannerisms and smile and haute couture (my wife wants to buy Barbara's "used clothes").

14. How about a movement to put together a coherent platform?
Edited on Sun Feb-20-05 12:11 PM by mediaman007
For more than 25 years we have been living off the New Deal. Its time that we spell out our beliefs and make them known. Then anyone who runs has to fit our platform. I'm tired of candidates that have to dodge questions. I'm tired of having to fit my beliefs to the candidate.

If the candidates can't fit our platform, they need not apply.

16. Not really, No.
I love her, but THIS IS A*M*E*R*I*C*A, dammit. The only way a woman can become president here is if she's either right-wing or a southerner.

Please face reality and continue your search.

Thank you.

18. Yes.
Our society can't change that fast. The reptilian-brain will still be with us.

Gotta give this to Sen. Boxer. She lives up to her name. That could be it: she shows that she's so tough that even male Chauvanists admire her grit. But she needs a foil, and it can't be anything "American".
