Camilla banned from White House?
CAMILLA BANNED FROM WHITE HOUSE

Feb 20 2005

Dubya bars Camilla from White House ..because she is a divorcee

By Paul Gilfeather Political Editor

GEORGE Bush has banned Camilla Parker Bowles from the White House - because she is a divorcee.

The unprecedented snub has effectively sabotaged Charles's plan to take his bride on a Royal tour of America later this year.

The trip would have been the pair's first official tour as a married couple.

But the US President - a notoriously right-wing Christian and reformed alcoholic - told aides it was "inappropriate" for him to be playing host to the newly-weds, who are both divorcees

2. WTF is he talking about??
If this is true, it may represent the pinnacle of Bush's stupidity so far.

I have to wonder, though, if he isn't playing some kind of game with Tony Blair's base supporters. If any British DUers want to weigh in, could this be designed to HELP Blair?

6. Who is this guy and does the story scream set up to anyone else?
Just like to know the credentials of the reporter. Wouldn't want to get sucked into another one of Rove's Sunday morning exercises.

Bush get stupid enough to pull this stunt then he would have to ban all of the repug elected officials, most state and local repug chairs and half his family. Damn, he is gonna get lonely in that big ol' house.

8. Dunno if this is true or not
but it's what the Sunday Mirror is reporting, and they've broken what seem like bizarre stories before, only to have them turn out to be true.

Very odd that Camilla ...even after marrying Charles...wouldn't be welcome but Jeff Gannon is

9. Is this another one of W's infantile attempts to smite Charles?
Apparently, Prince Charles has made no effort to disguise his contempt for the Chimp and W, being the pathetic, vindictive little whiner that he is, is most likely intending this as a slam against Charles.

The hypocrisy is maddening.

20. Finally!!!! Something I agree with...
I am a loyal fan of Diana's and I just don't agree with "making Camilla acceptable." She did what she did and OK... what's done is done...but why should anyone now try to make "an honest woman" of her?

Camilla is and will always be known as a "homewrecker" who broke the heart of a beloved princess and then had the bad manners to outlive the princess and end up BEING HAPPY ALSO. That kind of ending is just unheard of in Fairytales and Charles should just put that in pipe and smoke it or in his bed and fcuk it. You are welcome to be happy with Camilla, Charles, but WE don't have to like her.

I really don't care anything at all about Charles and Camilla or the British Throne. It's over after Elizabeth dies.

The English might as well wake up and see that Bush/Blair own England anyway.

22. Divorce is a big no-no for some fundamentalists.
Some years back I knew some fundy Christians who belonged to a small Church that was thrown into an uproar when a new preacher came to town and told one married couple (with kids) that they would have to start living apart because one of them had previously divorced a marriage partner for "non-scriptural" reasons.

Apparently Jesus indicated that the only lawful reason for divorce was adultery on the part of a marriage partner, so anyone who had been in a marriage where adultery was not involved but which ended in divorce could not remarry again - ever. If any of the partners did remarry then that partner would be committing adultery as in the eyes of God they were still bound to their first marriage partner. In a case where adultery was involved in a divorce, only the innocent partner could divorce and retain the right to remarry.

This seems to be a touchy subject in some fundamentalist circles because some Churches teach that if you were married and divorced while a non-believer (as was the case with the couple mentioned above) these rules on marriage and divorce would not apply and you could become a Christian and keep your current partner even if an earlier divorce was "unscriptural." However the hard core apparently believe that even if while a non-believer you divorced for reasons other than adultery and then remarried, if you later became a Christian you would have to stop having sexual relations with your new partner and live apart.

The first question raised is usually, "But suppose you find yourself married to someone who is physically abusive? Does this mean that you have to stay married to such and individual unless you can catch him/her cheating on you?" In short, their answer would be yes. Although they would say that the injured partner has the right to physically remove himself/herself and children from the home if it is necessary for protection from injury."

Not saying I believe all this, but it's just what I found out from having an acquaintance with some members of a church where this divorce and remarriage situation arose.

25. In some fundie churches...
the man can just divorce his wife by saying "I divorce you" three times publicly. But the wife doesn't have the same rights.

Also, in some churches, the divorced husband CAN remarry but the divorced wife can NEVER remarry...adultery or not.

39. Well, now, ain't that a kicker.
Because Muslims, male and female, can divorce their spouse simply by saying, "I divorce you," three times publically.
Are you sure you don't have the religions mixed up or is there more similarities between fundamentalist Christianity and Islam than the Bushies would care to admit?

37. I can believe it
Bush had plans to take JimJeff back to the ranch to polish off a couple bottles of 21-year-old The Glenlivet and a glass-topped box of Cohiba Esplendidos that weekend. (Google "glass topped Cohibas" and you'll understand.)

Pickles was in a quandary because she'd already made all of the furniture and all of the drapes into dresses, and the Architect of the Capitol was threatening grievous bodily harm if she did it again. Hence, she had nothing to wear.

The twins were planning to raise a fuss because neither Charles and Camilla are gainfully employed, both of them continue to eat and live in heated space, and no one seems to mind. "But DAAAAAD! Why can't we do that?"

So George was all "look, I don't give a shit, just come up with a reason I can use to justify not entertaining these people!" Suddenly Karl jumped up and said, "Just say they're both divorced!"

Yeah, that's the ticket.

So now Dubya can go to Texas and play Hide Bulldog's Sausage, Laura can smoke Pall Malls and read trashy novels, and the twins can spend the weekend slamming shots of cheap tequila...just like they were planning to do in the first place.

41. You may not know this, but they can't get married.
In the UK, it is against the law for a royal to get married in a civil ceremony. No argument, it's illegal. And they can't marry in a church because the Church of England (of which the halfwit will be head if he ever takes the throne) will marry divorced people BUT only if the marriage wouldn't cause some kind of public scandal AND that the new relationship wasn't a factor in the break-up of the old one. The world and his dog knows that these two were at it all the time he was married to Diana and that he wanted to get rid of Diana so that he could be with The Old Tart.

The only way for the halfwit to marry the old bat would be to renounce his right to the throne and, indeed, his royal status and then he could marry in a civil ceremony (cf Edward Vlll and Wallis Simpson). But he's hardly likely to do that. What would he do, get a job? He's too dumb to do anything else.

But as it stand his proposed civil marriage will be illegal. It's the usual arrogant "I don't give a fuck about anything but me" so I'll do what I want" royal crap. With any luck it signals the beginning of the end for these cretinous parasites.
