Sometimes I walks like a rooster and sometimes I walks like a fairy...
Why does George W Bush have an exaggerated "cock walk" when he is on camera? Not always, but most times when he is conscious about it? He doesn't ride a friggin' horse - no explanation for the bow-legs. it's pretend world. Now, he's over in Europe pretending to put a move on a female reporter? Why? Could it be that our most "macho" president is gay? I know our gay friends may find that thought appalling, but has anyone else thought the same? :)

1. It's actually a psychological thing.
Like Rudy Giuliani. He's got the walk of a despot. I'm sure there are threads somewhere that expound upon the implications of his body language.

Though I never considered it a "cock walk" though. More like a wet diaper dalliance.

3. I have thought it
although I see him more as asexual or nonsexual. He seems too prissy to have sex, or maybe I just can't imagine the thought of him having sex. :puke:

To me, he doesn't have that anima or animus that people like Clinton have -- that kind of life force or drive, you know? He's a far cry from a "silverback."

On the other hand, fwiw, I have noticed he has many effeminite gestures when he's not posturing or swaggering -- the way he giggles, shrugs and leans his head to the side, waves wiggling his fingers. I'm not sure if that means anything -- I know straight men who have those mannerisms, too... At least I think they're straight.

5. Bush is a poser...
Its fairly well known that Bush is a mamma's boy with a major dependence
on women. There is nothing wrong with that, but clearly HE thinks there is,
and exaggerates his machismo like a classic over-compensator.

6. We cannot forget his days as a cheerleader and...
the rumors about him from his college days. Has he been able to stay in the closet all that time? But not only stay in the closet, but present the image of a "macho" leader. When he may be just the exact oppposite. Just a possibility, I think.

8. Not all "effeminate" men are gay...
and loads of gay men are quite masculine. Behavior often is meaningless
when it comes to sexual orientation.

17. Like I said.....
He feels ashamed of his lack of machismo, and is overcompensating with his
behavior. I don't think it has anything to do with his sexual orientation.

Several years ago I saw a documentary about veterans of WWII. One
wonderful man, who has seen horrific action by the age of 21, said the
great thing that did for him was it freed him from having to "prove his
manhood" to anyone for the rest of his life because he knew that when
it really counted he had been as tough as they come. He talked about
going on to be a very affectionate father to his sons during the 1950"s,
when such behavior was seen as down right perverted. He said other
men were never able to goad him into fights or other such non-sense,
because he had nothing to prove, and didn't give a damn what they
thought of him.

Bush has been coddled and taken care of and bailed out of his failures his
entire life. He's trying to cancel all that out by strutting around like a fool.

:)

10. He's overcompensating for *something*, anyway
Like that stupid hamfisted reply to a reporter who asked what he and his dad talked about when they didn't discuss politics: P*SSY!

Aside: Big props to the TV bobblehead (can't remember who) who said Dubya walked "like he was drying his Right Guard."

11. One more thought: The "secret" recordings
I just heard Fox talking about these taped conversations of the Chimp before the 2000 theft. Their emphasis? Two things:

1. How much he loves Laura, how Laura was a turning point in his life, how devoted to Laura he is...

2. How he said he didn't want to "kick gays" because he's a sinner (implying that being gay is a sin, of course, but also that people shouldn't criticize).

I just thought that was interesting, combined with the flirtation with that reporter. I think some people are nervous.

16. Guaranteed: He was trained to walk that way
because it kind of looks like the way Popeye walks, and everyone knows Popeye is the manliest of men.

Seriously, these suckers take "deportment" lessons so they can try to look and sound "presidential". (Too bad that in Dubya's case, the "walk" just makes him look more like a short guy trying to play big dog.)

I also think George H. W. Bush was given some sort of speaking lessons. Remember his image? Bush the wimp? Remember how Saturday Night Live kept having him say "wouldn't be prudent", as he ducked his head? That gave him a timid image. I honestly think they tried to teach him to talk as much like John Wayne as possible. B/C in later times, that's who it sounded like he was trying to imitate.

18. Seriously, I think Bush has a disorder...
called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus. It's a type of fluid on the brain which is characterized by changes in gait. I call it Bush's Watergait. Check out the symptoms...

Symptoms:
Early symptoms include:
changes in gait (walking pattern):
feet appear stuck to the floor, unable to begin walking (gait apraxia)
unsteady walking
weakness of the legs
sudden fall without loss of consciousness or other symptoms (drop attacks)

Symptoms of progression of the disorder:
dementia (loss of any or all brain functions, including movement, sensation/perception, and "thinking"/cognitive functions)
originally mild, may progress to severe dementia
no observable mood (flat affect)
apathy
withdrawn behavior
impaired memory
difficulty maintaining attention
decreased spontaneity
urinary incontinence
bowel incontinence, loss of control over bowels
speech impairment

19. What I find appalling is how many DUers think these stereotypes
are ok - as long as they're directed at a Republican. It's made me even more cynical (if that's possible).

21. I think most folks here are simply trying to find the right balance...
in order to find out the truth. Unfortunately, the gay aspect is part of the story - perhaps only a periphereal part - but a part nonetheless...And most do not wish to intentionally offend anyone, I think? But, it is also important that you keep your concerns at the forefront.

But, don't expect to find a lot of sympathy out there. Sadly, I haven't seen much of it.

I think a lot of DUers are having their "Sista Souljah" moment.

20. He's pretending to put a move on a female reporter? Let's go back in time
Edited on Sun Feb-20-05 02:28 PM by Straight Shooter
Remember when there was speculation about bush being gay, this was around September of 2004, IIRC. Anyway, in order to squash those persistent rumors, bush put his hand on Laura's fanny at one of the September 11 memorial tributes.

Does anyone else remember this? bush was all of a sudden giving pats to Laura and little kisses and holding her hand. It was all fakery, designed for the camera and the media and the public, to fend off the questions of his "masculinity."

Now he's doing it again. He knows, Karl knows, the White House knows that people are once again beginning to speculate that bush's mandate is a man-date, namely Gannon.

It's got to just eat him alive that he knows that people would even question this about him. AFAIC, I never could figure out why people thought he was macho to begin with. Always looked like a bunch of hooey posturing to me.

edit: Let me clarify. I don't care about his sexual orientation. It's just that I simply can't stand any of his phony posturing, not just sexual, but extending to all aspects of his squatting in the White House. AFAIC, nothing real comes out of his spoken words or his body language.

The Bohemian Grove story about him picking up gay hookers with Poppy from SF. He flirts with males all the time. Hell if he was gay atleast he'd have one redeeming quality.
