"PRESIDENT CLINTON ADMITS SMOKING POT!!!
eight year old tapes reveal."

Hey THAT headline would get the media's attention, doncha think?

Course, if it's the Shrub, we look the other way about that and ALL his crimes. Becaue we are fair and balanced.

1. I don't think anyone much cares anymore.
Edited on Sun Feb-20-05 02:25 PM by Bouncy Ball
Remember the Dem primary debates, in which all the nominees were asked if they had ever smoked pot and like five or six of them said they had (I remember Dean was one of them)? It was just not a big deal.

Honestly I wouldn't bat an EYE if someone told me they had smoked pot. So what? Who cares? It's just as much a drug as alcohol or caffeine, only those two are very socially acceptable.

If I ever ran for office, I'd say "yeah, I have smoked pot, though not in a long time. Anyone know where I can get some?"

Ok I wouldn't say that last part. Hey if we don't care about a former cokehead being president, surely someone who smoked pot garners a great big shrug nowdays, right?

14. I know that Kerry, Edwards, and Dean said they had. I was impressed at
the honesty. *shrug* You're right, who cares?

18. To recap, I think Kucinich, Clark and Sharpton said they hadn't.
Kucinich and Sharpton from the religious angle and Clark because he was in the military and subjected to tests (and the religious angle).
:hi: Bouncy.

3. Did cocaine come up in the tapes?
I thought I saw something on tv about that, but wasn't able to watch for a response.

5. It was talked about but not conclusive.
Bush said he had not denied it - however, that isn't admitting it.

4. Past tense?
Or present tense?

Clinton hotboxing on his way to work would be pretty awesome.

7. SMOKED it? Really?
Then how do we know that he isn't still doing it? Smoking cocaine/crack is EXTREMELY addictive. I've never done it, but I've been around enough of it to know that it's hard to just stop, no matter how much of a "conversion" you've had. Plenty of crackheads find Jesus in a jail cell, swear they'll never do it again, and are right back on it when they hit the streets.

11. Is it possible Bush Senior tested crack on his own son?
before the CIA facilitated its introduction into black inner urban areas in the later 1970's?

8. Clinton and Bush are both pussies.
They both smoked dope, never admitted it directly, and continued on to continue to let the distillery companies rape America's collective liver while people are dying for a non-toxic and non-violent way to get high. Fuck both of them. :grr:

13. Not only that
Under the Clinton administration, cannabis arrests soared.

US cannabis arrests:

1991____287,900

1993____380,700
1994____481,100
1995____589,000
1996____641,600
1997____695,200
1998____682,900
1999____704,800
2000____734,500

When it comes to marijuana arrests, Clinton was much worse than Bush Sr.
Sad, but true.
Amazingly, the 2002 number was 697,100.
37,400 fewer than in 2000.

16. Clinton also installed everybody's favorite drug czar
Edited on Sun Feb-20-05 03:27 PM by wuushew
General "Highway of Death" McCaffrey.

Barry McCaffrey, drug czar from 1996 to 2000, was the country's longest-serving drug czar, and before that, America's most-decorated general. Known for his egomaniacal, abusive management style while in office, he cultivated a hardcore drug buster image and devised Plan Columbia. Under his administration, the drug war emphasized interdiction, zero tolerance and militarized counter-narcotics. He also initiated a controversial plan to insert anti-drug propaganda into TV and movie scripts.

17. Can you go back to before Reagan's War on Drugs and see...
...how that affected arrests for drug users throughout the 1980's and just before Clinton's period in office?

21. My title is facetious --there is no Clinton story like this
but there is a Bush story, and MSM is being too quite about the new Doug Wead tapes release. If the story had been about Clinton, the media would be having a stroke right now from trumpeting it everywhere.
