Poll question: Should We Have Filibustered Ashcroft When We Had The Chance?
Edited on Sun Feb-20-05 03:30 PM by DistressedAmerican
With the Rice and Gonzalez confirmations behind us and Negroponte coming up, I have been thinking about the first term nominees.

We failed to filibuster Bush's first Attorney General nominee. It got us some ugly policy and legislation.

I wonder if our failure to filibuster Gonzalez and/or Rice will result in the same hindsight issues. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it are they not.

So in hindsight, do you wish we had taken a harder line on Ashcroft and filibustered him when we had the chance?

1. As I remember it, Jean Carnahan put the kibosh on a filibuster
But maybe that kind of attitude is why she is now the former senator from Missouri.

3. Appeasement Is Popular In Some Quarters!
I think that is how Zell got to call himself a democrat.

2. Filibusters may be our only hope, because if Negroponte....
...is given that level of power, the purges, murders and death squad retaliations in the U.S. will begin immediately.
