Have you contacted CNN and WP about Kurtz and Wolfie yet?
DU and other liberal sites have been full of the bias shown by Howard Kurtz and Wolf Blitzer on the Gannon/Guckert story. Their reporting has been abysmal and biased. If you haven't followed it, then I'll find the links. So, Newsjock has this great post how phone calls do work to local media. I think every one of us need to call CNN about Kurtz and Blitzer and the Washington Post about Kurtz.
Ask why they are trying to hide the story and are allowing such biased reporting.

Here's contact information:

CNN, Rick Davis (Executive Vice President - CNN News Standards and Practices), rick.davis@turner.com

CNN, Wolf Blitzer comment, http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form4.html?2
CNN, Wolf Blitzer, wolf@cnn.com
CNN, Wolf Blitzer, wolf@cnn.com

Washington Post, Full List of Writers, http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/interact/longterm/...
Washington Post, George Will, georgewill@washpost.com
Washington Post, Jim Hoagland, jimhoagland@washpost.com
Washington Post, Letters, letters@washpost.com
Washington Post, Michael Getler (Ombudsman), ombudsman@washpost.com

Once you are done with these, contact your local media and ask for better coverage. Let's keep after them and demand fair coverage.

1. I highly doubt it
they love to bitch and gripe, but taking action is another thing entirely.

BTW: I did shoot off emails yesterday. Kurtz' article following Gannon's appearance on Anderson Cooper was the last straw for me.

2. I have been emailing CNN about their media whoredom since
Ken Starr and his abuse of his position as independent counsel, which was always underreported all the way through selection 2000 and up to the Plame affair and Robert Novak's complicity. I know that I am not the only one objecting yet nothing has changed at CNN. As a matter-of-fact it becomes more and more like Pravda and Tass under the old Soviet Union.

3. I sent this letter to WaPO
Dear Editor,

As illustrated by Howard Kurtz' recent Jeff Gannon apologism, admitting to ones own mistakes is a good way start any story. Now I'd like to see the story graduate to the truth.

Let's begin the effort with Mr Kurtz. There are two competing, logical explanations for his Gannon spin reporting, a) he's riding the Bush propaganda payola gravy train; or, b) he and Jeff/Jim go way back to some place "in the past" that I don't want to imagine.

I'll put my money on a). Anybody else wanna ante up?

4. I've been screaming to the media for two days about PUBLIC ACTIONS
If we can get the meme of "Personal Life" replaced with the meme of "Public Actions", we might be able to turn this thing around.

6. While I think we should continue to write letters, is there anyway
we can appoint just a handful of people to actually watch the CNN garbage so their ratings won't reflect any increases?
We need to know what the hell these shills are discussing, but I certainly don't want them to get any market share increases in our quest to keep them in check.
I, for one, only watch CNN if Wesley Clark is a guest. I used to watch Aaron Brown and Lou Dobbs, but, no more. I won't give that network the time of day.
They need to learn that, in being Faux-Lite, they're ruining any good reputation they ever had and the only way to do that is to decline their viewing numbers.

7. Check Media Matters
and someone on DU will usually post the annoying stuff. I rarely watch.

8. They do post transcripts on their website. I don't know if that
counts as a rating.

9. Thanks for the links - I sent e-mails
This makes the third time in 10 days that I've e-mailed that twerp Kurtz -- this time I put a link to Frank Rich's NYT column, respectfully and politely pointing out that while Rich "gets it", Kurtz is missing the whole propaganada story. I think Kurtz is hopeless, actually -- he'll only come on board if the rest of the media nails the story for him!! It's pathetic that the WP has turned into a limp dishrag -- they, of Watergate fame!!

My latest approach involves uses the carrot rather than the stick -- trying to help and encourage the journalists who do "get it". Hence, my post of yesterday:

"5 things you can do to make Guckert a household name":

If you haven't already, give a pat on the back to the good guys!

10. Yes and many of us have been doing it for years, others need to come
on board and keep it up. We've had massive DU phone, fax, e-mail efforts which HAVE made a difference, and believe me if we all hadn't been yelling "foul" since "Selection 2000" we wouldn't have the vibrant "Liberal Blogging Network" exposing Gannon, Iraq Invasion Misinformation, Bush Lies, Plamegate. Our very frustration with CNN/MSNBC and the MSM Newspapers not listening to us was the catalyst for Bloggosphere explosion. It is really our only source of "news we can use and trust, but verify."

We had to create our own "New Media" here on the Internet, because MSM does not listen, suffering from the same problems DU'er "Newsjock" has talked about in his own "News Editor" experience. But, it doesn't mean we give up and ignore them. It's important to keep the pressure on, and particulary for newer DU'ers to get involved.

Please help. Kurtz is a Republican shill who masquerades as a media analyst. Call the WP and CNN on it. Please.
