Two more questions about Social Security. The government now uses the SS
money for other things to help keep the government running. That is why Gore wanted to put the money in a "lock box" so it could not be used on other things.

If SS is privatized, will the government still have access to that money?

Question 2: If that money is not available to them, how are we going to keep the government afloat.

The way SS works now is everybody contributes for everybody (sort of). With privatization, I will only contribute for myself into my own private account.

Question 3: What happens to people that have not contributed at all - the disabled, children of deceased persons that have contributed only 2 or 3 k, etc?

My first question - and the really helpful answers - can be found at:

1. Obviously, this will be the undoing of the "New Deal!"
With less money to fund the Federal government, the Republican will then cut social programs to the bone, funding only Defense and Homeland Security. When that happens, they will have erased the 20th Century.

2. That's where the $2 trillion in new debt comes in.
Without the SS surplus money, the government will have to make up the shortfall by borrowing.

3. Yes..
.. and if your private account does not do well, you will be on welfare which, from a government finance perspective, is the same as SS, it is paid from current tax collections.

Make no mistake, the "privatization" has nothing to do with "saving"
SS, it has to do with dismantling it.

Google "Grover Norquist" and read his philosophy. Guys like this have the current adminstration's ear.
