Poetic Justice….
Consider for a moment… the location of most military bases… if you came to the conclusion that most of them are located within the “Red” states you should rapidly see the humor in the upcoming base closures.

Now, you get the joke. Thousands of Bush's most ardent supporters can look forward to receiving a “pink” slip.

When Bush, Rumesfeld and Republican congress right hook the bases located within the “Red” states it will have an enormous economic impact; because most of the “Red” states are economically underdeveloped.

Of course, the Patricians and Grandees in those states will be much better off when the bases close. The Federal Government is propping up the wage rates in those states with decent paying jobs. So when the bases close there will be a glut in the work force that can then be hired a peon wages.

Poetic justice.

1. Unfortunately, when a red state is hurting...
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 09:44 AM by patsified
it just latches on to one of the blue states' teats and continues sucking away. I'm not sure if they ever really feel or understand the degree to which they're hurting. So much of Texas (where I spent the first 27 years of my life) is squalor, it's what people are used to. They're used to having utterly shitty schools, for example. Now I'm living in a blue state that actually invests in and values its public schools. The difference is like night and day. It's whatever you're used to.
;(

4. As a true Gemini, I see both sides to this
Living in a red state, I'm going to laugh my ass off when they lose their shirts. But on the other hand, our ecomony here in GA is in the crapper and this is going to hurt the rest of us.

Don't damn us all. There are plenty of blue people in red states who are going to feel this pinch.

5. Don't worry, when China cashes out the three-quarter of a Trillion Dollar

In trade deficit they are holding; we, as in Red and Blue states, are all going to be in the crapper.
