Was there a suicide note?

I have long thought highly of Hunter S Thompson, since the Dunes 400 and the beginnings of Gonzo journalism, and even readily accepted his NRA stance and other odd facets of his personality.

In fact, a friend and I once had T-shirts screened that said the "Vincent Black Shadow Factory Team"; they were so convincing that we got a LOT of comments, (especially in elevators).

He wrote about absolutely everything. Can you imagine hime committing suicide without writing about it?

Was there a note?

I mean its like you said...Could one of the greatest writers ever not have written about his own death?

2. This thought has occurred to me as well.

I'm sure Hunter's family, not to mention his legion of fans and friends in show business, will raise holy hell if this reeks of foul play.

Until there is some indication of that, I'm going to assume everything is on the up and up, and hope for the best for his family.

If there was no note, I'm sure it will come out.

Whether or not the note becomes public if it does exist will be up to his loved ones, as it should be.

Forget for a moment that he was HST and focus on the fact that he was a depressed, chemically-dependent man facing old age, instead.

hemingway didn't leave a note. the fact that these men spent their lives as writers doesn't necessarily mean they would leave a note.

He spent most of his life blasting away at peoples mental crap. Maybe he thought it was time we got off our lazy brainstems and figured something out for ourselves.
