Condi taking VP next year?
:wtf:
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=42938

Gotta love a quote like this;
"We all know that Dick Cheney has been the best vice president of modern times, perhaps in American history," one such chairman told Wheeler. "And we know that he absolutely will not run for president in 2008. Further, he has an unfortunate history of heart trouble. So let's just say none of us will be surprised if, sometime next year, he will step down from the vice presidency due to his health."

Best in US History, wow!! :puke:

1. It makes sense, folks don't run on their capabilities, they
are groomed and put in the position to be the recipient of the posts after the elections are stolen.

4. Again, I say, Bring it on!
I said it in another thread, and it's totally sad, but true: the Republican Party's base will eat itself if they attempt to nominate a black woman for the Presidency.

If they are dumb enough to do it (they are not), I'm all for it.

7. But what happened to the nepotism laws?
Weren't there such rules enacted after JFK put in his brother as AG?

Are those rules still around?

8. Re: Condi; Okay, I know I'm nosy and out of line, and I know
I'm engaging in something that can only hurt my own causes, and this is really petty, and I'll be sorry I ever asked this, and I am not keeping the discussion on a high level, as it should be, so I'm just a small-minded gossip, but

Why has Condi never married?

I know marriage is not for everyone; maybe it's not even for most people. But... what was Condi's particular reason for never marrying?

As for her possibly taking over, if Cheney were to resign: as bad as Condi is, as HORRIBLE as she is, I can't help but think that the removal of Cheney from our government can only be a good thing.

9. Condi for VP. Look at her record.
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 11:41 AM by Coastie for Truth
Gimme a break. She messed up as Provost at Stanford -- and it took John Hennessey (of Hennessey and Patterson - Computer Architecture) to straighten the place out.

She really screwed up "Town and Gown" relations with the "community" - Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Los Altos, Mountain View.

She messed up the hospital situation between UCSF and Stanford.

I don't even think the California GOP would put her up for US Senate against Diane Feinstein (Diane would win in a runaway), or for the State Senate against Ira Ruskin (who would sweep El Camino Real with her).

If Cheney resigns - look for MISTER Bill Frist, an aristocratic, southern, Protestant, white male. Fits the GOP mold.

10. Hate to say it, but I think you're right as rain. It's Frist --
-- THE CAT BUTCHER.

I just feel that when (*) shoved Trent Lott over the side of the boat for Captain Frist, it was bound to be Frist for the nomination.

(*) and Rove will position Frist for high visibility as VP when Dick's doctor announces the veep should "resign" for reasons of health.

These swine script everything.

11. Frist has two major Achilles Tendons
1. Cat vivisectionist. And, it is more then just vivisection (I am not a PETA radical - altho I think my cat is a much a "person" under the XIVth Amendment as any corporation). It is that he breached the trust of people who had to give up a beloved companion to a No-Kill shelter, relying on the No-Kill shelter's pledge not to give the companion to a vivisectionist. This is a level of moral failure and arrogance that I do not want in My President (8 years of Bush is enough).

2. His family owns HCA. HCA closed San Jose Medical Center - the only full service trauma center in Downtown San Jose. Thanks to Emergency Service Director Frannie Edwards and Fire/EMS Chief Jeff Clett and Police Chief Rob Davis - this has not yet resulted in increased deaths. But HCA had also purchased a hospital at US101 and McKee - Alexian Brothers. Now, HCA wants the City to pay the complete cost of building a trauma unit, more OR's, and a helopad at Alexian. This guy is just "Take-Take-Take".

I KNOW WHICH DOCTOR I WILL BE VOTING FOR IN 2008 - AND IT WON'T BE FRIST

12. Yes -- both are sore spots for his chances --
-- but I am sensing the GOP national apparatus is behind him, moving to put him in position as a kind of "Dr. Welby" candidate.

I see him as the GOP nominee in 08 with the vigorous support of the states' GOP people.
