Go To Hell NPR and WUTC in Chattanooga, Swiftboat Bastards....
Directly after several pieces on how deployed National Guard Members were unable to pay thier mortgages and couldn't take the time to even worry about their families while in the midst of battle; directly after the story of the death of a 29-year-old Marine in battle and his family's anguish, the NPR program running on WUTC in Chattanooga had the unmitigated gall to run a story written and narrated by a Swiftboat Bastard For Truth.

I won't give his name here, as his insipid tale told all I needed to know about this young man's whoring of his association with a Swift Boat Vet For Puke. If he is that desperate for publicity, he won't get a shred of PR from me.

The whole tale was about the son joining Repuke Daddy at a wonderful reunion and banquet of Swiftboats held in Florida this past January. You see, after they helped install an AWOL, murdering, lying, thieving cokehead in the White House; after they helped bring down our Constitution; after they destroyed a fellow soldier's reputation for GREED, LUST, AND POWER'S SAKE, where did they go? The Swiftboat Scumbags for truth went to Disney World!

"Send all that tourist money to soldiers for body armour? Hell, No! We're gonna celebrate the murder of 100,000+ Iraqis and the deaths of 1400+ of our troops for oil! Yippee!!!! We Scumsucking Bottomfeeders for Bush* are so happy we're gonna ride ALL the rides!"

And NPR wants me to know all about this Swiftass' son's wonderful journey with his son. Oh, the son waxed eloquently and respectfully about his wonderful papa. (Dude, I wouldn't brag about the asshole if I were you.) I wanted to puke, but I forced myself to listen to the entire thing. In the end, he said, his beloved Pap and comrades finally had "a victory." Well, isn't that special!

I love WUTC's music and have donated in the past. But the music isn't enough to pardon this kind of cruel, self-serving story. YOU CAN'T PUT A PRETTY FACE ON WHAT THOSE BASTARDS DID. Even if one of them is your Dear Diddy.

For a long time, I've been thinking. WalMart is giving NPR money. I bet if I called up any of the DJs on WUTC and asked for grocery money they'd laugh in my face. So I haven't donated in a long time. And now, I refuse to even listen to WUTC. If a news organization can celebrate the pain these assholes caused an entire nation, they should never be allowed to broadcast in the public's name at all.

NPR and WUTC-- you are absolute whores. Hope you can sleep at night.

2. ditto
I called my NPR station to protest the term "the war on terror in Iraq". The news director called me back and apologized for being "an echo chamber" and agreed that the term was misleading, at least.
He also thanked me for my input.

3. Hey, don't hold back, what are you REALLY feeling?
Dude,

Try to calm down. then take what you just wrote, and cut it down to 2 or 3 well focused paragraphs and send it to WUTC and CC a copy to NPR (the show it was played within, AND the NPR Ombudsman). I'd see if anyone else you know in your local area heard it too, have them do the same.

NPR is good at taking action on this sort of thing, especially if you CC the Ombudsman.

Sounds like someone should be fired.

I'm a fellow NPR listener.:evilfrown:

4. You'd have to pretty much..
.... fire the whole lot of them. NPR is only marginally better than FOX now, and since they carry the "liberal" label, they are actually worse.

Anyone who is still sending public radio money should really re-think their actions.

9. Thanks for making my job harder
I'm the development director for an NPR affiliate and the majority of dollars go to the local station, not NPR.

That swiftboat story may have been locally generated by the member station, not NPR.

11. My job...
... is to not fund propaganda wherever it comes from. NPR news is, and has been for 2-3 years, one of the worst offenders. I don't care if 10 cents of a contributory dollar goes to NPR, it is too much.

Don't work for "The Man" if you want an easy life.

Do you have any fucking idea what it's like to have to pull the car over cuz your kid is In iraq or Afhganistan and you just heard that three kids were blown up over there and you wonder if one of them is yours?

Do you know what it's like to know he may get called back any time?

Do you know what it's like to know he went through iraq with a goddamned metal pin sheared off in his leg because the fucking army can't afford decent surgery for soldiers WHILE A BUNCH OF FUCKING TRAITORS ARE CELEBRATING THE WAR AT DISNEY WORLD?

Do you know how it feels to know that the Swifboat Scums for Greed enjoyed their experience in a useless war so goddamned much they want all of MY kids and yours to fight in some more of them?

This was an NPR program, a daily midday thing the name of which I will not repeat. NPR is making MY LIFE miserable every time I listen to them. They were the last hope. They are whores. I suggest you find a new line of work:

If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen!!!!!!!!!

17. How many times do you call?
I've heard so many Repukes on NPR lately spouting their greedy, homophobic, anti-American, warmongering, Social Security-hating crap on and on and on. If there were any rebuttals, any fair chance for Democratic/Progressive response, I was listening for it.

And I'm not hearing it.

Slowly but surely, the only "mainstream" news source I let myself trust has become one more roost of chickens.

Journalist = Chicken.

NPR Journalist= Chicken.

I'd rather not wait for it to completely go Nazi, thanks. I'll just listen to CDs and tapes and get my news on the Internet.

We have a name for their kind in the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard - it's "Buddy Fxxker".

The "Swift Boat Veterans For Truth" are an insult to the Coastal Force ONE and to the United States Navy, nd desecrate the memories of the Coast Force sailors who died in VietNam.

6. Thank you. These men are scum and should be called criminals
not celebrated with nostalgia by a son eager for his name in lights.

Additionally, I heard ( before I cut the station off) that * was in Europe. According to the NPR PRostitutes for Bush*, no one is protesting! All of Europe is just delighted to see *!!!! And there is no rebuttal for ANY of his bullshit speeches.

I know better. I don't have time to stay on line, but by God, I damned well know there are protests. And guess what? Not a word on Guckgan Manwhore for Bush* either on NPR. If you heard any, pass it on, but they're sitting on that bit of bad news as well.

I'm done with NPR. Today was the last straw for me.

10. It sounds like the News Director at your local NPR station...
...should definitely be fired (maybe the whole "news" department).

We occasionally get Local stories like this, that preempt the National feed, protest to the National office is the best course of action. You could even call or e-mail your U.S. Congress people or the F.C.C.

Here are links to the NPR Gannon stories, so far. Did they preempt these too?

18. Sorry
I'm a ways from Chattanooga but pick up the station on the mountain. I have always enjoyed their DJs and the music, and maybe if they get rid of the NPR news at some point I can listen again.

But Chattanooga, from what I've seen, is run like North Georgia is - by porcine White Southern Baptists....*'s base in the South.

Since they lost manufacturing and switched to tourism.

...you posted about.

The show is a fairly new L.A. based "Day to Day" with Alex Chadwick and :puke:Madeleine Brand. Fortunately, it's not carried on very many stations

What I said before still goes, Someone needs to be fired for every time they repeated the name of the group "Swiftboat Liars for Bush."

I thinks the thing that pissed me off most, was how happy Madeleine Brand was to repeat the name of those bastards group, "remember this?":grr: I can't believe NPR gave those assholes 7 minutes and 45 seconds of air time.:grr:

I had heard the promo for this a few days before. I wanted to be fair and hear what they had to say. But it was no more than a sappy tribute to the Swiftboat Scumbags. That's all.

This morning I found an old driving tape someone made me and have enjoyed a great mix and haven't missed NPR one bit today.

Now I'm off to garden. Glory Be! A sunny day and nowhere to drive for a few hours!

It's a fairly new show, produced in L.A. for the Western Time Zones, I guess. It would be on "Live" at 12:00 Noon in the Eastern Time Zone.

It's on Just before "Talk of the Nation." Most NPR stations Don't carry it (only about 50).:hippie:
