FCC rules against lies? re fcc heads comments on Laura Flanders show. |
|
Did anyone hear the comment in response to a caller the I think went like this? "There is a little known provision in the fcc rules concerning knowingly broadcasting a lie."
Now we know this does not apply to Cable since the courts have ruled that Fox news does not have to air the truth about an issue and was legal to fire journalist who did so. But if the FCC covers radio and broadcast tv, then we should ba able to file complaints against Hannity, O'Liely and Rush.
The fcc official did go to great pains to point out that it is an agency that is "driven by consumer complaints" and "will never take the initiative to investigate on it's own"
I was in the car at the time and damn near missed my exit.... Maybe there is a transcript...
