Odd my ass. This story is blantantly about diffusing the JamesJeffGuckertGannon story. I'd bet a million if I had it. The MSM has jumped on a story where you can't do a goddam thing about it. This is deflection at it's most obvious. KKKarl worked overtime on this one.

7. Yep, Rove had to do something...

to divert the 'Gannon' scandal and it had to be something that would point a 'finger' at bush to ensure the media would cover it long enough to make the 'Gannon' story old news yet not cause bush any real harm as the 'Gannon' story is doing.

The blogs, DU, etc - the alternate source for actual news - needs to keep investigating, keep revealing. They forced it into the 'mainstream' and can keep it there with enough work, imo.

Just as the media was getting a bit of a frenzy on the Gannon story along comes a fairly benign admission. He smoked pot. Of course, the media is ALL OVER THIS. They got their message and are doing their part.
