So what happens if the new Iraqi govt decides to trade oil in Euros? |

Will we invade them again? Force another election? Or will we just not let this one happen? Do the iraqi citizens know about petrodollar hegemony, or did they just hear that America wants to "take" their oil?

We will be there for a long time regardless of what type of government is given to Iraq, but they will only have limited Sovereignty. Similar to Vichy France or Manchuko during WW2, if you want a comparison.
