Guckert may *SUE* bloggers - for EXPOSING FACTS! LOL!
http://www.webpronews.com/news/ebusinessnews/wpn-45-20050221JeffGanonMaySueBloggersNewsweek.html

Newsweek reports that Jeff Gannon is considering suing liberal bloggers, among others, for a "political assassination" that drove him from his job as a reporter for a conservative news outfit called Talon News

It seems like the republicans are trying to best us (supposedly) with frivilous lawsuits. First that college republican and now this. Puh-leeze.

corrorate Lewinsky's version/deposition/credibility/testimony?

(obviously, I don't have the specifics..but do recall at least mention of this during that time)

4. "Political assassination?"
That must mean he was working as a political operative, not as a reporter.... And, as I recall, he resigned his "job"--he wasn't fired.

Well, wherever he pops up next, I really, really hope his first column will be in character--maybe about the horrible expenses related to frivolous lawsuits....

11. It sort of makes you wonder if he really does have an attorney.
Any attorney worth their salt would know not to say something like that. I sometimes get the impression he's trying to do his own damage control and failing miserably.

that there is no good advise to give.

I think someone may be telling him to sue to stop information until they figure out what to do with it once it can be discussed.

46. I'm pretty sure the WH doesn't want him to sue.
Think about it, WH officials would have to testify under oath. His threats are also keeping this thing in the press. I don't think this is Rove's plan.

18. This is your A #1 sign that Guckert is a looney.
Please, Guckert. PLEASE file a lawsuit. I cannot WAIT to watch you go through discovery.

Because of course in any libel/slander/defamation/invasion of privacy suit, the defense would be that the information as a) true and b) in the public domain. So the lawyers for Aravosis, Brock et al. would be sure to request all kinds of documentation on Gannon/Guckert that probably hasn't even come out yet--and they might actually get it. That would be sweet.

This guy must have fired his attorney, or had his attorney quit on him, because his attorney told him not to talk to the press, and you can see how well that's working.

The more I see of this guy, the more I wonder: why did Eberle pick THIS guy to be the WH mole? Not only is he an idiot who doesn't know what's good for him, he's also a blabbermouth who doesn't know when to shut up. Not good qualifications for being the super-secret undercover WH plant. So how'd he get picked for thsi job?

Inquiring minds want to know,

The Plaid Adder

I would imagine it would have to do with how the case would be framed, but, it would seem that the discovery process could be rather open. Then the depositions of the WH connections, etc..........
