The Simpsons, Yesterday's Episode: I have a question for all of ya...

Here is a quote from the New York Times Article about the episode of the Simpsons that aired yesterday, where Patty came out of the closet (I missed it myself.)

'L. Brent Bozell III, president of the Parents Television Council, criticized "The Simpsons" for addressing the issue of gay marriage, though he cautioned that he had not seen the episode. A parental advisory preceded the broadcast.

"At a time when the public mood is overwhelmingly against gay marriage, any show that promotes gay marriage is deliberately bucking the public mood," he said.'

I have two things to say to Mr. Bozell:

1. Are you sure that the public is OVERWHELMINGLY against gay marriage?

2. It's a f*chking TV show. The creators of "The Simpsons" can do what they want, can't they?

I'll feel relieved when somebody in the M$M has the balls to say it to the nation as a rebuttal response to that cretinous idiot.

And for not seeing it, anybody who believes him at face value is just as stupid. It's worth seeing and it's promoting nothing. Even FOX's boring disclaimer the episode was a DISCUSSION OF. Not a PROMOTION OF.

A Liberal message. I guess the dollar is more important than the message?

in "The Simpson's".

I remember Matt saying they'd been trying from the beginning to influence the show, but the contracts don't allow it. My memory is vague on this, though.

9. Vast Right Wing Conspiracy.

A recent estimate from the FCC's Enforcement Bureau suggests that is exactly what's going on: 99.8 percent of the 240,000 complaints in 2003 were filed by the Parents Television Council, a group founded specifically to restore television to being a socially responsible medium. According to the PTC's Web site, the group maintains a database of more than 89,000 hours of television. When it finds suggestive content on television shows, the PTC issues e-mail alerts and enables users to submit complaints directly from its Web site.


Despite his denials, there is a clear connection between Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church, its related organizations, and L. Brent Bozell, the founder of the Media Research Council and the Parents Television Council. Bozell is a member of the American Freedom Coalition, an organization that has received over five million dollars of Unification Church money.

It's a shame these people have nothing better to do with their lives.
