Please explain to me why Mangate is an impeachable offense
I can see Scott McClellan resigning/falling on his sword over it, but Chimpeachment?

Is it the Plame connection? I just don't see it.

If CBS had any sack, they'd track those "false" documents back to Rove et al. THAT would be grounds for impeachment.

2. Im beginning to look at Gannongate as "bait not taken"
Everything Guckert did was obvious, blatant and flamboyant. Opposite of what would be expected of an operation that had another important purpose (asking the President friendly questions).

Im beginning to realize that Guckert was easy bait offered. And refused by his targets: namely, some of the people that sat around him, and saw him for the transparent fraud that he was. I think the aim from the start was the attempt to nail one or a handful of the WH press corps. Having just clocked Dan Rather, they were onto the next devious step, imho.

4. Silly.....
I don't think it's impeachable. Lying about going to war is...... But what brought powerful men like Capone and Nixon down? Rather petty crimes, amazingly.

6. Clinton was impeached for lying about "the sex."
Edited on Mon Feb-21-05 08:58 PM by Dr Fate
The only difference is that Clinton had NORMAL affairs with women- not some bizzare ties to a ring of web-pornographers/gay rent-boys and hard-drugs.

If anyone "lied"- then according to the GOP/media of the 1990s, its impeachable.

7. It isn't, really. We understand that. So far, unfortunately, none of
the "Gannon" business is traceable back to Chimp...and that's exactly how they want it.
