Another, more tangible complaint about "Spongebob Squarepants"
I was looking at the official Nickelodeon site for briefs on the show and its characters. I found this about Sponge Bob's boss, Mr. Krabs:

"Mr. Krabs is SpongeBob's boss and the owner of The Krusty Krab. Making money is what it's all about for Mr. Krabs, and he can usually be found in his office counting his cash and adding up the day's receipts. Although SpongeBob gets on his nerves, Mr. Krabs likes that he's willing to work long hours for little pay, and sometimes acts like his mentor. Mr. Krabs hates his fast food rival Plankton, the owner of The Chum Bucket, but not as much as Plankton hates him. The only thing that has more control over Mr. Krabs than money is his teenage daughter, Pearl"

Now, look at the passage referring to his employee, SpongeBob. Krabs is happy that SpongeBob works long hours for little pay. Is this subliminal message preparing our kids for shitty McJobs or am I reading too much into the program?

Now that's what I call a twisted lifestyle and a poor example for kids.

2. i dont let my kids watch this show specifically because another
show where hte expectation is so very low. i see it as a conditioning, and am totally opposed to allowing children to be conditioned in such a manner. so i have never been a fan of sponge bob for my children

much of the cartoon today is of the hero of cartoon being stupid. really having children embracing and being ok with stupid

3. Sponge Bob is lucky.
He has a job he loves. But he deserves a raise.

4. More like, educating them to be aware of the scam.
Krabs is not the Hero here. Kids can see Krabs is ripping off SB.

5. a dnagerous show. it gets kids thinking they can breathe under water
i expect a law suit someday from a family whose kid drowned thinking he could eat crab patties at the bottom of a swimming pool.
