3. New Show Tomorrow Night (Tuesday)

He just signed a nice new deal with Comedy Central that allows him to work on other projects...possibly becoming Dave Letterman's vacation host.

I'll take a Daily Show rerun over anything on the other cable channels.

4. I'm not happy

They are constantly having reruns and only do four shows a week normally. Maybe they should have Colbert or someone else anchor when Stewart is off doing something else.

5. It's All Contractual

Stewart & Company only agreed to do so many shows...thus these days are built in to spread the show out over a year. These guys really haven't had a long time off...like an SNL...to recharge in a long time.

While the show's successful, it's still run on the cheap...which they constantly play up. Also, it's difficult keeping up that level of material on a deadline all the time...that's the part of the show I admire the most, since they're getting edgier not lamer, like SNL.

7. DING DING DING DING DING DING DING!

I have not been a long time viewer, but I seem to recall Stephen Colbert taking over a few nights, some years ago, and doing his thing. I was a TDS novice, a real rube, and didn;t get into it, a crime of the soul I have gone on to repent every day since.

Colbert can fill in. Oh yeah. Since the time of my ignorance, I have come to adore him. In chats with friends, Stephen is only second to Jon in "I want to have his babies" poll -- gay and straight.

I admit with minimal embarassment that I want a Colbert spin off so bad that when SCbert pitches one of his" shows" as part of TDS -- I am so blinded by sheer desire that I scan the tv listings and Comedy Central for a schedule -- but of course since they are just fakes part of the show, I find myself and my popcorn and my lapdog all disappointed and alone and moaning for Stephen....

I don't know what's going on with these guys, and even although I love most of the repeats, I would like to see Colbert make it HIS show when JS is not there.

9. Stephen is hilarious

I think he's so funny. I could see him co-hosting when Stewart is gone or something. I love him better then Rob and the other newer guy (but they're not totally bad). Samantha is awesome too. :bounce:

I'd like that. Colbert is so hilarious. And Samantha Bee. I wish she was on there more. I love how she can make people look so idiotic.
