can Someone Explain this To Me. The US Searches the new "Elite" Iraqi
Special Forces when they arrive at a scene to help? This is crazy...

A U.S. Army soldier conducts a body search on an Iraqi soldier following his arrival to the scene of a suicide attack in Baghdad, February 19, 2005. Iraq (news - web sites)'s special forces are hailed as elite rapid intervention units who can take on the most ruthless insurgents. Since thousands of men deserted the army and security forces last year, U.S. and Iraqi officials now constantly praise special forces as the cream of the units leading the battle against guerrillas. 1. I'd imagine insurgents could get ahold of those uniforms...
...with ease (from the thousands of deserters), pack the ammo belt with explosives, saunter into the middle of US troops and set it off. What I find curious is the camoflage the Iraqi soldier is wearing. How can that be helpful in the desert?

2. That camouflage is to help our soldiers to distinguish between
the Iraqis and our own.

5. Wouldn't an armband serve the same purpose?
Why don't they just send them out in bright pink? I wouldn't want to be hiding in the desert in that getup (people would think you were an oasis...;))

3. I know. the whole thing seems half assed backwards..
imagine the time it takes to search all of the IP or SF who arrive at a scene to make sure they are not bombers. This is very fucked up.

6. The problem with an Occupation...
when there are people that are fighting against it is that the people fighting against it are not that easy to discern. Since there are so many different groups fighting the U.S. it is hard to tell which group is which. Sunni Ba'athists, al Q.,Shi'ites, Sunnis that are not Ba'athists but pissed off at the Occupation, foreign fighters-Syrians, Saudis,Jordanians and others.

An angry Iraqi woman shows a child's cot she claims was broken along with other household items during an alleged raid by U.S. forces, which was unable to be independently confirmed, on her house in Baghdad Iraq (news - web sites) Monday, Feb. 21, 2005. In other cities to the west of the capital, U.S. Marines broke down doors and raided houses Monday on the second day of an offensive aimed at cracking down on insurgent activity in those areas.
