Fat police lock up Chris
SOBBING 31-stone Chris Leppard was dragged off to a mental hospital against his will by meddling social workers and police.

snip

The authorities used powers normally used to detain mentally ill people who might harm themselves or others.

They locked him up despite the fact neither he nor his family wanted him to go. Last night Chris’s furious mother Anne said he has no mental problems and was winning his fight against the rare illness that compels him to eat.

2. my family wants me to be mad about outlawing smoking in amarillo
they keep waiting for me to jump up and down yelling and screaming. after all i stand up for alls right, why wouldnt i stand up for my own.

well, i will tell you why. i have asked people that know me, i have asked smart people, "tolerant" people, liberals, lol lol lol. and i listen to such a hate filled anti smoking group. it has gone all the way to my children should be taken away from me, in extremism

a lot fo people on this board has created this. though they will be outraged that this happened to this man. nation wide, and on this board, there are a lot of intolerant people. a lot of people that will validate their demand, another stops something they have decided is bad, wrong.

we are an extreme people of late. exactly dictating how we feel another should take this journey

if all i have is smoking, i am not feeling too bad. about the rest of me works with society. i am feeling sorry for a lot of people right now. but again i reiterate,..........we created this. in almost every segment of our society. this is who we are as a people

8. My opinion?
We're going to have to disagree on this one. They get most of them wrong. What about that girl a year or so ago that was removed from the care of her mothwr and adopted by some woman. They p ut her into "therapy" because she wasn't "bonding" properly with her new "mother". They decided to have a "rebirth" experience for her and wrapped her in a carpet. She was screaming that she couldn't breathe. So they let her suffocate. Sorry, I don't have a link.

But there are numerous examples. By the way, my wife is one, my father was one, my father-in-law was one. Several cousins are bureacrats. So I'm not prejudiced against them, and I know that there are good ones out there. But the bad apples outweigh them.

On the other hand, I think we mean different things by bureaucrat - I am referring to the thousands of people working in the city councils, job centres, public utilities etc. making sure the country keeps ticking over. They do shitty jobs for shitty pay and get tarred with the same brush as the few headline-grabbing child support or mental health cases where mistakes are made.

spelling fixed

14. As I said,
there are good people in the bureacracy. But the system sucks. And you have to remember, they are people too, and are, like the rest of us, most concerned with their own concerns.

They will ride roughshod over your rights, your property, your freedom, and your life for their own convenience and material well-being.

6. Some people need to be protected from themselves
You can't blame the state for trying to save a life.

9. He's an adult.

He's not crazy. He's entitled to tell them to stuff it where the sun don't shine.

Adults make their own choices and live with the consequences.

Yes, ytou can blame this for insufferable self-righteousness and for, well, temporary, I can't call it anything but, slavery.

13. So should a doctor be able to force treatment on someone?
If he was a public health risk, then ok, but who exactly is he harming here? We all have a right to live in dignity... and dignity is what we consider it to be.
