The Bushocracy
Some people are running about saying how we are entering a New Dark Age and such. I believed this until recently. I have nothing against the people who believe this is true, I just believe that they are being pessimistic about this.

Bush 'won', it can be good for us. Let the morally bankrupt, bigoted, ignorant RW'ers celebrate their victory. Let them thank Diebold and Al Qaeda for letting Bush have four more years. We are the true victors, and history will remember that.

I see people calling Bush a fascist, Bush is not a Fascist. Fascists are evil, they are genocidal, and they would kill people who oppose them, not just whisk them away. Yes, some of Bush's supporters are Fascists, but not Bush, he does not represent Fascism.

America can survive Bush. We have been through worse. Just think of it this way, America has performed so well under Clinton that we could take several terms under Bush and America would suffer no lasting damage.

America does have enemies, many of them are inside the borders. I'm talking about the Christian Right, the Fascists, the RW'ers that want a one party state.

The best solution to the Bushocracy is not to go after Bush, it is to go after the people and the groups that he can not function without. We need to find ways to oppose the (Anti-)Christian Coalitions, the (Im)Moral Majorities, and the (Un)Free Congress Foundations. Bush is a puppet of the RW'ers, he is a pawn, he is nothing, just an insignificant face of the same group of people that tried to throw Bill Clinton out of power. They are the ones who need to be stopped and it is possible to use Bush to go against these people, we just need to find a way.

1. I agree with you
There's a traditional cycle that most political movements (and most people) go through. They were humble, they worked like hell, they got their message out, they got political power, they got arrogant (or, more accurately, they stopped hiding their arrogance), they believed their own infallability, they are pushing for programs and means that just aren't going to work, they are making the big gamble, and it's not going to pay off, and they will fall back down.

Now let's hope we Democrats are humble enough to work like hell and get our message out.

2. What have we been through that is worse?
I'd like to know...if it isn't the worst is this the 2nd, 3rd or 4th worse time in the history of social progress?

3. Your post is a message of hope, but there is just one thing...
If/when my children get drafted and die in Iraq, I won't care about calmly analyzing political cycles (though I think you are right about them)

What I say to my wingnut/red state/Bushbot FORMER friends: "Bush wants to kill my children. How do you expect me to support that?"

It shuts 'em up, that's for sure.
