Instead of using a strong and direct word such as; dislike, mistrust, loathe, despise, or abhor where the subject of that word gets the attention (Bush) the anchor chose a word where the subject of the attention goes to the holder of that opinion (Europe.) So now the onus is on Europe to get with the program and learn to love the Bush just like all his loyal subjects do.

Most Americans view Europe and it's leaders with a skeptical eye and think it's totally normal because we are America and they are not. But when Europeans deign to hold a similar view it is because they are suspicious elitist.

I once had a mentor tell me "Binka you are only as good as the words you chose and the order in which you say them." The media knows this all too well and they are being willfully abusive, obtuse, and misleading to their audience. It is criminal in my opinion.

The Europeans aren't subjected to the media's filter as we are. One might argue that the filter is slanted in a way that puts the best spin for the interests of the country it's being shown. But that's precisely why it's best to be informed and review news/reports from other countries on issues.

Yesterday, CNN was showing tape of protests in Lebanon against Syrian Occupation. But gee...I didn't realize that all those protestors' native tongue is English! Yes, virtually every shot of protestors showed them holding signs written in English. Then, they had a segment with a woman translating the speech to English for the camera.

So...were the protestors targeting an American audience, or was CNN using a filter in its reporting that aligned with Bush's speech of the day for Syria to end its occupation? hmmmmm
