Krugman asks today what major
distraction the bush boys will use now that they are loosing with Social Security. Well pointed Paul to PNAC in the following letter

The PNAC plan is on schedule for Iran, so they will soon switch all their attention from Social Security to Iran... mark my words, they are going to go to war with Iran by the Summer.

Of course they may intend to do this with an Air Campaign, but given that Iran actually has an armed force that is more capable... don't count on that staying only as an air campaign and this not leading to a draft....

Paul talk about your national security distraction.

Now let me fully worst case this, short of nukes of course.

We do our air attack, they shoot down some of our pilots... worst they manage to get out their subs into the gulf... those sortie subs sink two of our carriers in the midst of shipping lanes effectively blocking the entrance to the gulf to any major shipping traffic, also trapping our troops in Iraq who cannot be resupplied or reinforced using shipping lanes. By the way, this is the way most of the supplies are going in. Did I mention Naval Casualties would be the worst since oh Coral Sea or Midway?

That is your national security issue that Bush will play on... as well as the second Pearl Harbor (or is it the third one as the second WAS September 11, regardless of conspiracy theories or not... PNAC page 48 rebuilding America's Defense), that will justify that universal draft they need to continue this eternal war for eternal profit. On the plus side the troops that survive and come home will hopefully have lost their taste for war as a game. On the down side, they will come back to a destroyed economy and very much in shambles former super power. That will be Bush's legacy. (and this assumes no WW III, which now I believe he will cause)

The drumbeat for Iran has started by the way... and the stenography corp is obliging the bush boys... and not asking questions... and I wish the lapdog media started doing exposes on PNAC... what is wrong with this picture I have to go to Der Spiegel to get good exposes or the Guardian, but most Americans are in the dark about PNAC. So Paul you want to make a real difference, speak about PNAC in your Op Eds, because all they are doing is in there... and we are right on schedule with it.

1. Have NO DOUBT about it. We are War Slaves to them.
And their Soc Sec "fix" is the laughing stock of anyone who runs the numbers.

Cheney will take us to war any chance he gets. His Socialistic jobs projects for war profiteers has got to dominate the middle-class jobs base. Iran, Syria, ?, S. Arabia, Indonesia (no oil?), arms race with N. Korea, invade Egypt.

these new technical institutes who advertise on TV,become part of the techno-plutarchy, make $50+ to start. Like I've been saying, we've been heading toward a very serious form of jobs fascism based on war profiteering that comes out of enlisted etc., a continuation of the military industrial complex revolving door between the military and the arms producing and staffing, contracting on U.S. tax dollar guaranteed profits, industry (Halliburton, Brown and Root, et al, of course).

It's about tax financed war profiteering masquerading as "good" middle class jobs = SOCIALISM / Jobs-Fascism political support.

6. It could be a LOT worse.
Iran, unlike Iraq, really can fight back. And Iraq isn't exactly doing a bad job of it either.

Consider this scene of destruction:

Iran takes a few of their newly minted nukes (or makes a deal with N. Korea for them) loads them on their nice quiet diesel-electric subs and sets sail for the Gulf Stream near Chesapeake Bay. Meanwhile, their confederates in the States set sail from Annapolis in a couple of 26 foot sailboats and head out to the same location, where they meet up. The nukes are passed over. One boat sails for New York, another for the Potomac and Washington D.C. Believe me when I tell you that such boats are NEVER checked, they might belong to a rich guy, you see. Actually, I used to sail that stretch of water a lot, and I was never so much as looked at by anyone!

Anyway, anchor both boats, set a timer, catch a plane ... and some time later a simultaneous BOOM! KA-BOOM!

The point I'm making is that all this BS about "protecting the homeland" is just that: BS. The one and only protection against this sort of thing is to deal with people honestly and with integrity. Two qualities sorely lacking in our present administration!

Oh, and do you think that the rest of the world would cry if our capital got blown up? Why would they? WE are the major terrorist threat on this planet!

But you are so right about Iran. We WILL attack, and soon. It is the only way that Bush and Co. can stay in power. But one thing I don't think they may have planned for: we will probably get our ass kicked as a result. Things aren't exactly going acording to plan in Iraq.

11. This is Hollywood fantasy stuff.
All they have to do, as Nadin pointed out, is block the Gulf. No oil, no reinforcements/supply for our troops. Game over. The dollar goes down the tubes and it's a new ball game.

Look how oil jumped $2 today just because it got cold in the Northeast. Imagine what would happen if tankers couldn't move through the Gulf.

They don't need to do anything risky and fancy with nukes.

Nobody gets killed, but Caligula eats his horse.

12. We have work to do and the rest of the world has to wake up.
Is anyone going to stop the madness.

REMEMBER THIS? About the time we went into Iraq, there was all this noise about establishing friendships and partnerships with Iran.

What kind of joke is being played on us?

A killing joke. Kill our, kill theirs. For CEO's and their stockholders.

Stockholders must be held to blame!
